NEW: The New York Times has obtained an email in which Pete Hegseth’s mother accused him of routinely abusing women over the years. “On behalf of all the women (and I know it’s many) you have abused in some way, I say … get some help and take an honest look at yourself…I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around and uses women for his own power and ego. You are that man (and have been for years) and as your mother, it pains me and embarrasses me to say that, but it is the sad, sad truth.” Penelope Hegseth wrote in 2018.

@OyVeyIzhMir @charlescwcooke That's certainly an opiniated theory, now tell me the results of the last century (w\ a dept of labor) vice the century preceding. Nothing is preventing states from their own implementation of standards. But we'd be an absolute laughing stock without national leadership here.

@DonThe3rd @charlescwcooke It's MORE competetive bc states in competition with each other produce better results. The states that fall behind gravitate to the winning formulas. Systems like OSHA lead to corporate capture. Big biz uses regs to kill rival small biz.

@OyVeyIzhMir @charlescwcooke That's your opinion, but the idea of 50 different OSHAs and 50 different BLS and 50 different ways to settle labor disputes...without an aggregation among them is not a winning strategy to be globally competitive, nor being able to attract employers and protect workers. Naive.

@DonThe3rd @charlescwcooke We don't need an entire dept to keep a few guardrails in place. What's more the states can see to those guardrails. The competition among states ensures that. CA can try PRO act, for ex. And no, our Fed gov goes well beyond guardrails and has far too much centralized control.

@OyVeyIzhMir @charlescwcooke We have that, with guardrails for the whole of the US But since you are scientific mind, you already knew that, and already knew promoting multi variability without a baseline and control doesn't yield sound (labor) science.

@OyVeyIzhMir @charlescwcooke In an increasingly border free world you want a patchwork of minimum labor regs, interpreted 54 different ways, based on physical geography. Really?

🚨🚨🚨 My staff just made contact with a new whistleblower who provided a credible account that a FEMA contractor visited the home of an elderly disabled veteran's family around October 10. While there, he recommended that the family remove Trump campaign materials and signs from their house and yard, stating that his FEMA supervisors view Trump supporters as domestic terrorists. The elderly homeowners were so frightened by this and afraid that they would not recover their loss that they removed the signs. Nevertheless, FEMA has not returned to their residence. This took place not in Florida, but Georgia.

Three Year Letherman (A meta parody of parody)
Happy birthday to America's 20th President, James A. Garfield! He holds the record for the shortest American President at only 4' 11". Garfield was a Major General for the South during America's Civil War. Garfield also discovered corn, and he was the first to extract juice from oranges.

Matt Gaetz is a member of the Florida bar, went to a good law school (William & Mary), practiced law in private practice, and has been an elected official since 2010. Based on historical precedent, he is MORE than qualified to be the U.S. Attorney General. His leadership on important criminal justice issues while in Congress is an added benefit. It’s time for Republicans to drop their prissy insistence on some opaque set of credentials used mainly to disqualify people they don’t like, and understand that their role is advice and consent, not substitution of their sclerotic preferences for President Trump’s. If you voted for Merrick Garland, who went on to repeatedly run roughshod over the constitution (wrongful investigations, witch hunts, political theater over investigating states for improving their voting laws etc.) then you really have no standing to object to the nomination of @mattgaetz. He will set the policy, not litigate the cases. He will be surrounded by highly competent and professional deputies experienced in a wide range of legal disciplines. Can anyone doubt that the DOJ is well overdue for a top to bottom overhaul? It is part of the executive branch. The Republican Party won a decisive national victory and it’s time for us to stop playing political pattycakes and implement the change the American people so clearly want. Let’s go.
Charlie Kirk@charliekirk11

Going to be very hard for Republican Senators to explain why they voted for Merrick Garland but won’t vote for Matt Gaetz.

@LawSelfDefense @Angry_Staffer The entire amount of government payroll is 261 billion. You could fire the entire government 11.5 times and still be under 3 trillion. It's obvious no one understands government spending

Hey @elonmusk, put me in charge of the Pentagon. I'll slash $400B easy. That'll get you 20% to your goal of $2T, right out of the gate. I went to Wharton three years before you. I own a media company, so I know how to run a business. If you really want to cut, put me in, coach.

@RedAlertFlorida @DrJillStein There should be no sacred cow for Doge. At issue is the overhead costs to ensure compliance with laws and regulations imposed on the executive. Relieve those requirements for agencies and you kill the root of the problem.
