@Zixzs321 About Susie not encouraging Ralsei: She does! Yet, the times she tells Ralsei to calm down tell us about Susie too. Any comments about tails and humans make her uncomfortable, and other actions seem similar to her old self She sees Ralsei act like she used to and not like it.

i am not usually a hater but I really was let down by a lot of chapter 5. it was good, don't get me wrong, but so much of it felt so incredibly disconnected from the entire rest of the game thus far and the shoddy character writing was a big miss for me.

(USING MY CHAPTER 5 VENT CARD) what gets to me the most about chapter 5 is all the development that is ignored by the cast. ralsei curses, casts fireshock, counterbullies orange, defies Kris when Attacking Flowery, and Susie has like 2 lines of dialogue about him being a "hater"

In fact, talking to Berdly during Chapter 5, he is extremely supportive of Susie and Noelle being a couple, in his own weird way, but none the less supportive! He no longer feels he needs to pretend to like Noelle, and he's better for it!

I'm sorry I can't get behind people genuinely hoping for more Berdly relevance in future Deltarune chapters. This isn't about his character being good or bad, it's literally just that he is so blatantly signaled as a secondary character that there's no reason to expect otherwise.

@Sir_radington @empyrealviolet What? Look, not even touching Susie's arc and story, what complex arc do you see in Berdly? Berdly's arc in CH.2 was complete, but slightly regressed, yes, but he's clearly basically back to where he was at the end of CH.2 by the start of CH.5. Where else can he go?

@thousandyea @ELumiose19996 How I see it: As we know, Gaster was a scientist. If he's above the world of Deltarune, he would probably treat it as a specimen rather than a world. So he runs an experiment. The Forgotten Man is an anomaly. In other words, an unaccounted for variable. Scientists hate those.

Alphys' experiments were not really unethical, the bodies were donated, and the procedure was humane. Her problem came down to how she dealt with the resurrection and later amalgams. Her lies were the issue.

To me Gaster is not evil in the same way that we are not evil for playing the No Mercy route . He's simply a being who is above it all, recognising the nature of this world that he presides over and or created. In fact I think it's very likely he is who Sans refers to here.

@DoodleScrib @seraphel_ @yuUFO_ The problem is that the lightner’s dark world form is not their literal body (eg, berdly’s arm being normal in the LW even after being roasted, and whatever is going on with mad dummy) so i’d assume that form is directly linked to the lightner’s soul

I've seen some people try to use this as Dess Knight evidence, but personally I don't buy it. The line about changing appearance fits better with Spamton then it does Dess. It would be odd for such an important lore drop be in a patch, compared to a bit of Spamton clarification.

Maybe actually killing Spawn has real consequences instead of purifying, as that might destroy and kill. Or maybe Ralsei was purified, hence what he is.

Ralsei is SO not beating Titan allegations so far. As if literal shape-shifting from pitch black form wasn't enough they now have flames identical to the black flames of the Titan that we fought in Ch4 and speak about how they will "destroy everything if they let themselves go"

@EPTB4 @SpecOfTism because 1. Attacks are hard. 2. They do hella damage 3. On first play thru, you can't retry. It auto continues. 4. No indication it ends. (Knight doesn't even lose half it's health by the end of the fight, so if you just play normally and don't know that, it looks impossible.)
