I spent several months speaking to officials in Somaliland, Somalia, diplomats and others, to piece together this report on what contributed to Israel’s decision to recognise Somaliland and, crucially, how it happened. 👇🏿

Somaliland has been pursuing formal diplomatic recognition for over 30 years. Israel was the first to offer it. How did this happen? Read our deep dive into how Israel’s recognition affects internal Somali politics and, potentially, the shape of security in the Red Sea going forward. storage.googleapis.com/madamasr/en/20…

fantasy negotiations, conceding to Israel in negotiations, pleading to Trump to fulfill his lies in negotiations, using Sam Hyde to portray begging. From a RockSolid drone who larps on Jesus and 4cuck greentexts and you wonder why Allah عز وجل mandated slavery for the the Kuffār

I don’t even care anymore. Just shut the borders and dismantle the work visa programs. That’s all we want. Well even let you attack any country you want in the Middle East.

Emerging Security Gap in Dhasaan as IS Activity Rises. Reporting from Al-Miskat, particularly the Dhasaan area, indicates increased IS movement in recent days. Local pastoralist communities describe seeing small groups of armed fighters moving across the area with relative ease. This comes after Puntland Defence Forces withdrew toward Turmasaale, roughly 65 km from their previous positions. The pullback appears to have reduced security presence on the ground, creating space that may be allowing freer movement for IS elements. At this stage, the activity looks more like movement and positioning rather than preparation for a major attack. However, the situation carries some risk if the group uses the gap to move supplies, gather information, or strengthen its presence locally. Continued observation and a clearer picture of movement patterns will be important to understand whether this remains limited or develops further.

Al Shabaab militants are using at least nine companies to import drones, VHF radios, military camouflage and other terror-related cargo from China through Kenya. Security sources on Thursday said the militia uses the cargo companies’ employees to ship the consignments to Dhobley in Somalia and finally to Buale, Jilib, the de facto capital of the Islamic Emirate of Somalia controlled by the terror group. standardmedia.co.ke/national/artic…

You bring me 100 Somali soldiers, 10 of them are tribal monkeys, half of them are jareer, and suicidal, and the other ones are Oromo savages and Christians monkeys, 20-30% of them are ghost soldiers, hate Islam and push away the masses. That’s the army

Joint basing with one side of the regional Horn/Red Sea rivalry could also put the US's status as a neutral negotiator (which is already under scrutiny in Sudan) into question. However, a couple of caveats on this specific report: 1. The only definitive claim linking the US to the base is from "an employee of Berbera airport." The rest is all circumstantial, citing US ties to Somaliland, the UAE, and interests in the region. 2. It's very plausible that this is referring to US forces using the Emirati base in Berbera as a "staging ground" for ops in the region--so more of a contingency or "non-enduring" location rather than a permanent base. We already know this setup exists with the Emirati base in Bossaso, Puntland, which US forces have used when conducting the rare ground op in northern Somalia.

"In Somaliland, the establishment of a military base built by the Emirates for the United States and Israel." This represents a major new obstacle in any effort Washington might try to make in reigning in the destructive policies of UAE/Israel in Africa. lemonde.fr/afrique/articl…

Even other African countries did not recognize Somaliland, do you know why? Because they are scared their own countries will become balkanized into smaller statelets & every single tribe will demand a country of its own using the same argument.
الهودي🇽🇰@Al_Hawdi1991

@oliveegirl Maybe because you only remember Somaliland when it affects you. What you fail to mention is that Israel's recognition is a product of the 4 decade-long isolation of Somaliland by Egypt and Arab nations Israel took advantage after many opportunities were missed by the Arabs

@oliveegirl @Al_Hawdi1991 It’s not difficult to understand Somali land is apart of Somalia, until she decides to let her go like South Sudan did. Don’t reason with people who have abandoned Allah religion for Jewish recognition. They have no faith or honour

@Al_Hawdi1991 Listen my brother, your situation is difficult & complex unfortunately. Nobody wants your Isaaq people to be killed again ever, but this issue cannot be divorced from the larger geopolitical situation. How will recognition protect you when it will only increase hostility?
