I don’t get it. Congratulating women who are having babies in their 40s while emphasizing that we also need to warn women of the risks when making their life plans seems like a totally rational, compassionate, pro-women stance to me. I honestly don’t understand why I’ve had such a wave of backlash over the past two days. Is someone behind this or something? Lean In?

@DownRunnin @AttorneyCrump I have to take one more exam to see if i will need a blood transfusion. I was told i will not be able to take any medicine, vitamins a week before surgery. I also received sum things i have to do/ take and use before surgery. It’s so much but 2 more weeks to go 💪🏽🫶🏼

Rachel Hampton lost more than 53 pounds but her stomach would not go down. Then she fainted. An MRI revealed she had 23 fibroids so severe there was almost no uterine tissue left. She was told she would likely need a hysterectomy. She got a second opinion and fought for her uterus. Surgeons removed 21 fibroids and her uterus was preserved. Black women are more likely to develop fibroids at younger ages and experience more severe symptoms than other groups. If something feels wrong, please go get checked. The earlier you know the more options you have.

@LisaBritton Any time I've tried to tell feminists about the medical information that women's fertility starts to decline at 30 feminists deny it vehemently. Feminists are in denial of reality, not only about this. Unfortunately too many women listen to them and are fooled.

@LisaBritton Women literally never hear the end about their fertility. I knew about my biological clock by the time I was a teenager. Social media makes it worse. You are not covering anything new. We are exhausted.

Have you had any issues with selling online like this women did? I ATTEMPTED to gave away a FREE couch and a FREE recliner on Facebook Marketplace. It broke me. Almost. FREE. Not $20 “or best offer.” FREE. Like, I will pay YOU in gratitude and nice furniture if you take this from my mom’s apartment. And let me be clear about the setup here: these were in good shape, simply downsizing so I thought giving them to someone that needed them would be the right thing to do. Tough to get? No. Sitting in my mom’s first-floor apartment, with a door that leads DIRECTLY to the parking lot. No stairs. No elevators. No hallway maze. Back your car up, walk 15 feet, done. This was, and I cannot stress this enough, the easiest pickup in the history of FREE furniture. Apparently not. 80+ messages later, here’s what I learned about humanity: 🛋️ “Can you deliver?” Oh sure, no problem. Should I come in and set it up for you too? Fluff the pillows, angle it just right toward the TV? While I’m there, want me to whip you up a quick dinner? Got a laundry basket that needs knocking out? I’ll vacuum on my way out. It’s FREE FURNITURE, not a moving company with a side of home services. 📷 “I don’t have a vehicle.” Neither does the couch. That’s kind of the whole issue here. “What’s the weight, height, and fabric composition?” It’s a couch, Karen, not a job application. It’s the “great shape” free couch and recliner fifteen feet from the parking lot. Come look at it yourself. 📷 And my personal favorite: “Is this still available?” … “Line for the sofa” … read receipts on, never heard from again. Ghosted. By strangers. Over free furniture. On the first floor. By the parking lot. Here’s the thing. I didn’t have weeks to deal with this. I needed them gone in a few days. So I called every donation center in town, and every single one had pickup wait times of WEEKS. Not an option. So I did what any reasonable person does with a great-condition, easy-access, first-floor-by-the-parking-lot, completely free couch and recliner: I paid a junk removal company $250 to 🛋️r, or demanding things they have no right to demand, or showing up angry with zero follow-through… you’re looking at the free couch people. They’re real. They’re out there. Lots of them. These are the people that craft narratives, opinions and review local businesses. Take social media less than seriously, because most of the time, these are the people demanding attention. Anyway. My mom got a nice sectional. The couch and recliner are in a landfill. (Maybe in the junk guys living room! They were that nice!) And I’ve never felt more educated about the human condition for the price of $250.

I’m so happy for Anne and others. But I’m very concerned with the framing of how more women are having babies in their 40s. I’m worried it’s going to influence more women to put off family forever as if it’ll be easy when there are very real consequences. If they’re going to promote this, we should also inform women of the health risks to her and baby and let women know the biological clock is real and some doors close. J’ai des parents âgés, je les aimes mais j’aurai aimé naître bien plus tôt voir jamais, j’ai 25ans , ma mère est morte et mon père est vieux et fatigué, vrmt apres 40ans faites pas d’enfant si c’est pour qu’ils vous voient disparaître aussi jeune…

@DownRunnin @AttorneyCrump I’m going to look up all the drugs they prescribe me. I’m not into taking unnecessary medication. I’m a tough cookie and will stock up on toast, avocados, broth, mashed potatoes, and tuna. Thank you

I’m not really on board with the whole “dad strips down to do skin to skin with the baby at the hospital” thing. I’m very old school like that.

@OndalowSelina @AttorneyCrump The first few days was toast, broth, boring stuff and then I moved back to regular. They will give you a list as you check out. Also they try to give you meds that make you loopy, I declined those and asked for anti nausea anti anxiety right before I woke up.

@OndalowSelina @AttorneyCrump Oo also my hair started falling out like crazy after surgery, nizoral shampoo 2x a week (left on scalp for 5 minutes) helped reduce the shedding. Although I will probably continue on with it forever even though I don't have dandruff. Stopping with unsolicited advice I promise ❤️

@OndalowSelina @AttorneyCrump I'm sure it depends on a bunch of circumstances but I had laproscopic with an extra incision because my uterus was so huge. It took about 6 months for iron to crawl up to 40 which is the low side of normal but I could've done better with supplements
