@Renmakesmusic I’m sure you’re on it but all the stuff on trauma informed spaces sound super relevant to what you are looking to create 👊

Trauma-informed care is an important lens in stopping retraumaticsation. But thrrr has to be trauma therapy available too. Stopping retraumatisation and processing trauma are not the same thing.

👏👏👏 groundbreaking work by @FilippoVarese and colleagues - the first UK trial of EMDR for psychosis, with strong evidence of feasibility and acceptability! Next step will be to evaluate efficacy, with aim of increased access and choice in trauma therapies in psychosis in EI.

⭐️The results of the EASE trial are out! ⭐️ This is the first clinical trial of an ‘EMDR for psychosis’ intervention in people with early psychosis, demonstrating the feasibility and need for a larger-scale trial of this therapeutic approach. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

More evidence for the effectiveness of EMDR for complex PTSD. Over 90% did not meet criteria for CPTSD after an 8 day intensive course of EMDR. Important to avoid prolonged stabilisation periods and move to active tx, with appropriate support.
Ad de Jongh@AdJongh

Watch this! The results of our RCT among people with PTSD and Complex PTSD showed that sports and other physical activities added no effect to an intensive trauma-focused treatment of 8 days. Over 90% lost their CPTSD diagnostic status. frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

An accessible 20min from Prof Robin Murray on abandoning the ‘dinosaur’ of diagnosis; schizophrenia, it’s harm and how a more nuanced understanding of psychosis is helping us target social adversity and trauma rather than relying solely on medication in #earlyintervention

I like this one too. It compares all types of trauma-focused approaches in terms of cost-effectiveness. This table shows the likelihood of treating PTSD effectively compared to no treatment at all. journals.plos.org/plosone/articl…
