I've seen birth tourism up close. It's a total abuse of the system.
Think about it -- someone like me, who was not born in the U.S. but has lived here since I was a 6 years old, will never be able to run for President. But a child born here through birth tourism, then taken back and raised in their parents' country, never growing up with American values, somehow can.
American citizenship is not an "insurance policy."

An atheist once complained that it was unfair for Christians and Jews to have recognized holy days while atheists had none. Determined to fight this “discrimination,” he hired a lawyer and took the case to court.
The lawyer passionately argued, “Your Honor, Christians have Christmas and Easter, Jews have Passover and Yom Kippur, but my client and other atheists have no such holidays. This is unjust!”
The judge listened carefully, then leaned forward and said, “But atheists do have a day of recognition.”
Surprised, the lawyer asked, “We do? What day is that?”

Secretary of Defence [War] Hegseth just unveiled “Greater North America”, claiming every sovereign nation north of the equator is part of America’s security perimeter (from Greenland to the Gulf of America). Calling all countries north of the equator part of a US perimeter sounds like the US is trying to establish its hegemonic position, not based on allies but on hierarchical security relationships and policy alignment expectations. China and Russia are both north of the equator, and neither is willing to give up its respective security perimeters.

The United States of America, the country that built NATO, that spent half a century telling Europe that Russia was the enemy, that asked young men from Normandy to Kabul to die for the idea of a free world, has now chosen Russia. Not drifted toward. Not flirted with. Chosen. Trump calls Putin a genius. Cuts military aid to Ukraine mid-war. Blocks sanctions. Parrots Kremlin talking points about NATO aggression. Invites Lukashenko, Russia’s obedient attack dog, to found a peace board while Russian missiles are still hitting Ukrainian hospitals. The continent that actually shares a border with this threat. That actually absorbs the refugees. That actually lives under the shadow of what happens when Russia decides a neighbor isn’t really a country. Europe was told for eighty years to trust Washington. To buy American weapons. To let American generals run the alliance. To believe that when it really mattered, America would be there. It wasn’t there! It picked the other side and sent an invoice. Normal Americans, the ones who actually believe in something, should understand what this looks like from here. It looks like betrayal. Clean, deliberate, and permanent. Not a misunderstanding. For my regular American readers you've probably noticed a decided uptick in Japanese Posting. That's not accidental. I believe the message Elon is sending is loud and clear.
The American and Japanese Right must unify because the Chinese, American, EU and Japanese Left already have.
Consequently I want to make it crystal clear to our Japanese friends that their American friends and allies remain such.
The Left is actively working to undermine that alliance and so we must push back.
