An additional prize, largely for its 'delightful style of presentation' was awarded for a paper entitled 'Scoline pains re-visited'. Prize money for the competition to totalled £30

The EAAA had a long period of inactivity during the 1970s, but at a meeting on 11 October 1980,members agreed to 'revive' activities, including a meeting at which registrars could compete for a prize (this was named the Harold Youngman prize following Youngman's death in 1984)

As day 1 of the 2023 EAAA Core topics + Harold Youngman prize meeting concludes, it seems timely to reflect that the inaugural meeting of the EA (Regional) AA was held 73 years ago. The founders were Dr Budd of Cambridge, Dr Rice of Norwich, and Dr Bird of Bury St Edmunds.
