@drmwarner Agree! Family contact is therapeutic. In fact we need to stop thinking about family as visitors...they are essential!

The relative absence of visitors contributes to the dehumanization of being a patient/caring for patients in hospital. It's what I miss the most from the pre-COVID ICU. As more Canadians are vaccinated, official guidelines re: more liberal hospital visitor policies would help.
