Return your unwanted Reform UK flyers to this address and it costs them £2.50 a pop. Pop this address on an envelope with the flyer in, and pop it in a post box! The more we return, the less they will send!

✈️ Just landed back in #Brussels after seeing situation on ground in #Beirut. 🇮🇱 Israel are now collapsing residential buildings in central #Beirut, a city of over 2m people. This is the Gaza playbook. Again, @vonderleyen is silent.

There's no such thing as climate-friendly beef—despite growing "net zero" labels. New @WorldResources research reveals why: it's about the land. Beef needs 3x more cropland per kg of protein than eggs, pork, chicken – and 7x more than beans. Read more: bit.ly/3LkkDI6

🤔Can beef ever truly be carbon-neutral? Find out: go.wri.org/beef-emissions… @WRIFood's latest research shows beef production requires vastly more land than other proteins. And that land carries a massive carbon opportunity cost. At present, it's nearly impossible to verifiably lower beef emissions without simply sourcing less of it.

The arrest of Greta Thunberg for peacefully opposing genocide and supporting those on hunger strike is wrongful and disturbing. This is yet another shocking example of the UK’s broad terrorism laws being used to target those exercising their right to freedom of expression and assembly rights. Reports that Palestine Action activists on hunger strike have been hospitalised due to seriously deteriorating health send chills down the spine. The Government should agree to meet their representatives whilst prosecutors must take steps to end this excessively lengthy pre-trial detention.

New publication! Gas-linked revenues accounted for 90% of generation & 2/3 of costs in 2024, but this will fall to 60% & under 1/2 of costs by 2028. But this reduction in the share of gas prices in bills has limited effect. Find out why⤵️ @DrRobertGross. ukerc.ac.uk/publications/t…

One acre of corn for ethanol = 25,000 miles in a Ford F-150. One acre of solar = 700,000 miles in an F-150 Lightning. That’s the scale of possibility Bill McKibben laid out on the Energy Capital Podcast. And here’s the kicker: with agrovoltaics, farmers can still use that land. Grazing, shade for certain crops, pollinator habitat, even just as fallow land. French wine growers reported 20-60% higher yields with shading from solar panels. Instead of displacing agriculture, it supercharges it. 📊 Corn ethanol is a rounding error compared to what solar can deliver and uses far more land. 📈 Solar turns land into a true energy cash crop, while preserving ag value. ⚡ The opportunity is sitting in front of us, if we choose to take it. The question isn’t whether solar works. The question is how fast we’ll unlock its potential here in Texas and across the U.S. 🎧 Full episode: tinyurl.com/mwmackr2 #EnergyCapitalPodcast #SolarEnergy #TexasEnergy #CleanEnergy #EnergyPolicy

Consistent with its historic commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the State of Palestine. I will make this solemn announcement before the United Nations General Assembly this coming September. The urgent priority today is to end the war in Gaza and to bring relief to the civilian population. Peace is possible. We need an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and massive humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza. We must also ensure the demilitarization of Hamas, secure and rebuild Gaza. And finally, we must build the State of Palestine, guarantee its viability, and ensure that by accepting its demilitarization and fully recognizing Israel, it contributes to the security of all in the region. There is no alternative. The French people want peace in the Middle East. It is our responsibility — as French citizens, alongside Israelis, Palestinians, and our European and international partners — to prove that peace is possible. In light of the commitments made to me by the President of the Palestinian Authority, I have written to him to express my determination to move forward. Trust, clarity, and resolve. We will achieve peace.

Who is driving climate breakdown? Buckle up for some striking data... 🧵 1. First, global North countries are responsible for 86% of cumulative emissions in excess of the safe planetary boundary. China is responsible for 1%. The rest of the South and peripheral Europe is responsible for 13%. These results arise from taking the safe carbon budget and dividing into national "fair shares" on a per-capita basis, and then assessing national emissions against national fair-shares.

@leylahamed 🤦‍♀️ People replying that the GHF "don't supply perishable food" are completely missing the point. The GHF are not *supposed to*, and do not *usually* supply perishable food but that's does not mean this cheese could not have been put in one of the boxes.
