Liban : suite aux incidents gravissimes subis par les casques bleus de la FINUL, j'ai demandé la tenue d'une réunion d'urgence du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies. La France condamne avec la plus grande fermeté les tirs qui ont causé la mort, le 29 mars, d’un casque bleu indonésien de la FINUL et qui ont blessé trois autres soldats de la Force, ainsi que l'explosion qui a causé la mort, le 30 mars, de deux autres casques bleus indonésiens et qui ont blessé deux autres soldats de la Force. De telles attaques à proximité des positions des Casques Bleus sont inacceptables et injustifiables. La France exprime ses plus sincères condoléances aux familles des casques bleus tués et sa solidarité à l’Indonésie et souhaite un prompt rétablissement aux personnels blessés. Elle appelle à faire toute la lumière sur les circonstances de ces drames. La France condamne également les graves incidents subis hier par le contingent français de la FINUL dans la zone de Naqoura. Ces atteintes à la sécurité et ces intimidations de la part de soldats de l’armée israélienne à l’encontre de personnels onusiens sont inacceptables et injustifiables, d’autant plus que les procédures de déconfliction avaient été respectées. Ces condamnations ont été signifiées avec la plus grande fermeté à l’ambassadeur d’Israël à Paris. J’appelle toutes les parties au respect de la résolution 1701 du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies et à ce que la sécurité du personnel onusien soit respectée et garantie, conformément au droit international et à la Convention sur la sécurité du personnel des Nations Unies. La FINUL doit pouvoir mettre pleinement en œuvre son mandat et exercer sa pleine liberté de mouvement. Je salue le professionnalisme, le courage et l’engagement de l’ensemble des personnels onusiens au Sud Liban.

It’s not just that NATO refused nearly all our requests. We can’t afford to protect Europe AND… The world’s largest Arctic coastline 2nd-largest country on Earth The longest border with a close China ally The longest sub and missile approaches The GIUK Gap Because Canada’s military is pathetic and they are acting like children. It’s just too much for us to do both. Not to mention growing commitments in the Pacific that Canada refuses to help with. Are we going to protect Canada or Europe? That’s the question. My children live in North America so ignoring Canada’s submarine and missile approaches just isn’t an option for me.

France has been in recession for years and is heading toward bankruptcy with one of the highest public deficits. Its productivity is at rock bottom. Workers retire at 62 and have 6 weeks of vacation. They keep importing hordes of African immigrants whom they support with benefits and pensions. Its automotive industry is completely outdated. How do you sustain this system when the baby boomer generation retires and public spending explodes? If you are a 20-year-old French, you should be very worried.
