The attack on Jimmy Kimmel is insane - but this is not “the most straightforward attack on free speech from state actors”.
We’ve spent the last two years attacking, silencing, condemning, threatening and deporting people for their speech (anti-genocide, pro-Palestine).
All protections of the 1A were off the table when everyone - including the news media establishment - allowed and participated in that.
