@Dr_RobReimer Great thought for our day, for days unlike what we expected. Great to hear the word as well. For some time I’ve enjoyed a month of playlists I’ve developed on the dwell bible app. Every month I hear all of psalms, proverbs and the gospels. Set the translation on random to listen.

I like reading different versions of the Bible. Sometimes one translation will say something in such a way that a passage I have read hundreds of time will strike me fresh and new. I was reading the Jerusalem Bible today and this familiar passage stuck out to me: Jesus said to his disciples, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God still, and trust in me” (John 14:1). It was the simple word still that hit me. Trust in God still. He says this on the way to the cross. This wasn’t what they expected. Trust in God still. They counted on things working out differently; they banked their whole lives on it, they left everything behind to follow and now this unexpected ending. Trust in God still. They were grieving because Jesus was going to die. What would happen to them? If He was to be crucified, how would things end for them? Trust in God still. Of course, we know his death becomes a pathway to our life. We know about the empty tomb and the resurrection power. But in this moment all they could see was despair. Trust in God still. He is good. He is trustworthy. He will be victorious, no matter how dark the current hour. Victory in this life or the next is coming. Trust in God still.

There is nothing on earth like having a teenage granddaughter. Absolutely nothing. My 17-year-old namesake updated me on all the latest via a video she took while she was getting ready to go somewhere this morning. So she was talking away to me stream of consciousness while putting on her mascara, deodorant, combing through her wet hair, preparing to dry it and telling me about a self tanner. Y’all. Sometimes life really gets to me and I feel the weariness of living so long and so intensely. Most days I feel such a longing to be home. Other times, I’m like, give me days on end, Lord, to love and laugh at all these grandkids.

Headed home. We departed from our grandkids who live in Belgium today. It is always hard on our grandson when we leave. We have never lived close to him, so we come for a week and then depart again. He gets upset and cries every time. It always reminds me that we are passing through this world. It is not our permanent residence. We come and we go. We are here and we will be gone. This world is full of exits and departures, but in heaven there will be no more goodbye tears, no more sad departures. There will be no more homesickness. In heaven, we will come to our final home, a place of permanence, a sweet residence of love and belonging. Every coming and going reminds me of my temporal residence here on earth and I recall that there is a final home coming awaiting me.

The second eCourse I have is The Soul Care Leader. There are 40 videos (15-20 minutes each) that give practical help in how to live and lead in healthy ways. I talk about intimacy with God, how to manage time like Jesus did, living with healthy boundaries, how to create a culture of life change and a host of other great concepts. Here is a video clip to give you a sample. You can sign up for any or all of my three eCourses through the link below: renewalinternational.org/courses

I have created three eCourses: Soul Care, The Soul Care Leader and Thriving in Relationships. The Soul Care eCourse has the same basic content as the book, but it is broken down into 15-20 short video segments with applications after each video. The goal of the eCourse is to help people soak in the Soul Care material and apply it to their lives. If you want to do it as a group, we offer discounts and I think we can even find someone who has a lot of experience in Soul Care to guide you through! renewalinternational.org/courses

So here is a list of some of the videos available on Vimeo & a link to get there. The videos have a description of what each one contains: - Soul Care (2025 version & original) - Soul Care for Leaders - Emotional Healing - Hard Conversations - Overcoming Toxic Shame - Processing Negative Emotions - Talking vs Processing - Writing Insights - Thriving in Marriage - Rest - Dealing with Identity Wounds - Healing - Discerning between soul & spirit - Blessings and Curses - The religious spirit - Renewal Culture - Healing Father Wounds - Spiritual Leadership - Holy Spirit Weekend

The 10th book that I have published is The Soul Care Workbook. For years people have asked me to write a workbook to accompany Soul Care to help them process the material and last fall The Soul Care Workbook was published to meet that desire. It works as a companion for the book, the eCourse or the DVD’s. It isn’t meant to stand alone; it is a workbook to help people do the work. Soul Care isn’t a book to be read like a novel or a conference to attend in 3 days, you have to do the work. This workbook has exercises to work through, questions to help you process, passages to mediate on and is designed to help you live out the Soul Care principles. An excellent resource for those who want to live out Soul Care.

The 9th book I wrote was Authentic. I have spend time with Christians all over the world and I realized that a lot of Christians have right beliefs without the right experience. They have learned the right behaviors without deep intimacy with God. They have a form of godliness without power. They have slipped into a degree of religion without knowing it. And in this book I talk about how to shift from the right beliefs and right behaviors to an authentic intimate relationship with God. I also discuss how intimacy works and how to develop authentic intimacy with God and others in this book. I wish that every Christian would read it with an open, humble heart.

Yesterday we spent the day in Plitvice National Park. I’ve been to over 40 countries and seen a lot of God’s incredibly beautiful creation, this rivals them all. It isn’t just beautiful, but the park is superbly well laid out. I put out some iPhone photos, which don’t do it justice. My daughter Danielle Benninger is a terrific photographer and she will put up much better photos. But it was a lovely day together. And to top it off, the weather was spectacular too!

Book #8 - The Tenderness of Jesus. In 2022 I was on a trip to Hawaii with my daughter Darcy, we were traveling around the Island and she asked me, “Dad, why do I love you and love your faith but really struggle with most Christians and their faith?” I said to her, “Sweetie, if you are ever going to understand what God is like in this broken world you need to see Him through the lens of the tenderness of Jesus.” And for the next 5 hours we talked about the tenderness of Jesus through the Scriptures and through my own life. A little while after we got home she texted me: “Dad, that was the most helpful spiritual conversation I’ve ever had. Can you recommend a book on the subject?” I said to her, I’ll just write you your own book. So I did. The Tenderness of Jesus is, in many ways, my most personal book as I write about the One that I love, to the ones that I love. I write this book directly to my adult kids, like inviting you to sit at our dinner table with us and discuss Jesus and his tender love thru the Scripture and thru my life. I’ve shed more tears over this book than all the others I wrote put together. Pick up a copy on paper, Kindle or Audible and come join us at the table!

The 7th book I wrote was The Soul Care Leader. Jen often tells people this book has a little bit of most of my major themes in ministry. True. I nuance some of the Soul Care themes. I talk about getting to the root issue to experience breakthroughs. I cover how to shift from talking about your problems over and over, to process your problems to access victory. I also talk about going deeper in intimacy with Jesus. I talk about some key leadership concepts and seek to help people pass along freedom to others. It has a lot of meat in it and can help you and others to know Jesus more intimately and walk in deeper freedom in Christ. A worthy read! Grab a copy to read or listen to it on Audible!

Calm in the Storm was the 6th book I wrote. I wrote it during COVID, and I talk about how God can redeem a crisis. Romans 8 promises us that no matter what comes into our life, God can redeem it to make us more like Jesus. God will always be faithful to do his part, so the question is: what is our part? What do we need to do to get maximum benefit from pain and hardship? That is what I tackle in this book. We look at things like fear and grief and how to process through those things to victory. This is the only book I have published straight to Amazon. So it is only available on Amazon, Audible or our website.

Jen, Craig and I are off to Croatia. We are sitting separately, but I am going to try and get a little sleep on this overnight flight. We are meeting up with our family in the Belgium airport, but we have a really tight connection and got off 40 minutes late. So, hopefully the airport is not busy and we can make the connection. We haven’t been to Croatia before, so looking forward to visiting with the kids and sightseeing in Croatia. Plitvice, Split and Dubrovnik are all on the agenda. Looking forward to a little vacation with the family!

The fifth book I wrote was Spiritual Authority. It was published in 2020. Jesus was a man of authority. He spoke with authority like no other. He commanded demons to leave and sickness to be healed with authority. He calmed the storm with the authority of his command. And Jesus gave his disciples authority to preach the gospel of the kingdom and to cast out demons and heal the sick. Spiritual authority is rooted in identity, expanded in intimacy and activated by faith. It isn’t just positional, it is also developmental. So, in this book, I take a deep look at how to develop authority. It was just a theoretical question for me to pursue. It has been an active pursuit of my entire ministry. I wanted to see the kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven, as Jesus told us to pray. And I realized, while I was praying for kingdom things to happen, they seldom did. I needed to develop authority to see more kingdom activity. This book describes the journey. It is another book that inspires me to pursue Jesus for more of Himself. If you have never read it, pick up a copy to read or listen to it on Audible.

The fourth book I wrote is Deep Faith. All of the books, except for Pathways to the King and The Soul Care Workbook, are on Audible. And I am glad I went back and put this one on Audible in 2025 (even though it was published in 2017) because I return to it often. Faith is one of the major themes in Jesus’ ministry. He is only amazed twice - once at a man who has great faith and once by his hometown and their lack of faith . . . And he could do few miracles there as a result. When I get to heaven, I don’t want to amaze Jesus by my lack of faith! Jesus often chides his disciples for their “little faith.” It is hard to overestimate the importance of faith in Jesus’ life and ministry. I don’t think Jesus grants whatever we ask for just because we believe - He isn’t motivated to answer self-serving requests. But I do believe in the importance of faith and I do believe faith is developmental. You can mature your faith - which is one of the major reasons I wrote this book. I believe we could see more of the kingdom of God in our lives, if we developed our faith. Another reason why I wrote this book. I revisit it often because it inspires my faith; it ignites passion in me for Jesus. And the more I long for Him, the more I seek Him. If you never read it, grab a copy, or get it on Audible and listen as you drive to work. It is worth your time.

The third book I published was Soul Care. This book has changed my life. Long before I ever wrote it, the principles changed my life as I learned to live them out. And then publishing the book has changed my life as it has opened up countless opportunities for me to minister all over the world. It has become a life change movement around the world. Soul Care covers principles in God’s Word, that if lived out, lead to transformation. I talk about identity and how to live like a deeply loved person. I also write about repentance, overcoming family sin patterns, forgiving those who hurt us, overcoming fear, and healing wounds, heartaches and trauma in our life. Lastly, this book covers deliverance, which is part of Jesus’ ministry, and needs to be part of the ministry of the local church. I have taken more hits over this last topic than all the other things I have written about, but I have seen more life change through this ministry than in anything else I have done. I have heard thousands upon thousands of people testify to me that working through Soul Care has changed their lives. I am endlessly grateful that God has taught me these principles and that He has used the book, conferences, eCourses and resources to change hundreds of thousands of lives around the world. If you have never read Soul Care, I would recommend you read it slowly with a friend and really work through it.
