The Travancore Kingdom officially became a "Hindu Rashtra with Kerala characteristics" after Marthanda Varma performed THRIPPADIDANAM in 1750, a policy that even the Maratha Kingdom did NOT adopt during its rule. @OmarAbbasHyat The actual ruler is Sree Padmanabhaswamy of Trivandrum who holds the crown. The King is called Sree Padmanabha Dasa or servant of lord, ruling on his behalf. Cochin Kingdom doesn't have such concepts. The sovereignty is not tied to divinity, rather to eldest female of house.
