@CryptoMikli His relationship with alcohol is non existent. He is a beginner in the art of drinking. Moderation matters. Alcohol should not be demonized. If it’s paired with food, good people, and a slow pace of life, it will add life to your years.

@itscoachgoodman Lifting weights to look better is actually useless. You should lift weights for function, aesthetics will follow through in time.

Everybody talks about lifting weights to look better. The benefits of strength training are also: -Sound sleep -All-day energy -A strong stress shield -Decreased risk of cancer Why don't people talk about this more?

@_sonjawo This dude’s relationship with alcohol does not exist. Alcohol, especially wine is wonderful in moderation with food and good people. It gives life to your years and reduces stress.. Non stop tracking ‘magical’ devices and data gives you paranoia and an obsession with metrics

What kind of shit is this? Some red wine ruined me for 3 days 😂 I built an empire across the world while raging on alcohol, tobacco and much worse. Had a very happy wife and three beautiful kids and was there for everything while constantly sleeping 3 to 4 hours max. The no alcohol chapter has been remarkable but the biohacking world gets tiresome too. Stopping alcohol is great, but only after you have truly felt what it takes from you. Light to darkness. I seriously do not know if I can honestly tell you I would have been so successful without it. Sorry. I just will not lie.

Steven Bartlett says a few glasses of wine ruined the next 3 days of his life “It's one of those areas where you don't understand the hidden cost until you really give it up for a while. I stopped drinking at 30 years old. I'm now 33. When I was 31, I thought, I'll have a drink again because now I could really A/B test it. I had a year of not drinking, decided to have a drink again” “It ruined three days of my life. I had a couple of glasses of wine, didn't get drunk. It ruined three days of my life because of the domino effect it caused” “I got worse sleep that night, and then because I got worse sleep that night, I ate more poorly the next day because my dopamine system or whatever, the cortisol system was all messed up. I podcasted worse. I didn't go to the gym that day or the day after because I felt really bad. I then slept worse, and I could track all of this on my Whoop”

Sitting under an umbrella on a day like that isn’t longevity, it’s just over indexing on risk until life becomes artificial. You can care about your skin without turning every moment into a control experiment. And yeah, put the umbrella down for 2 mins when you’re being interviewed brother, you won’t age 5 years in that time lol

Ppl dunking on me for the umbrella. > your face is money > important for mate selection, career progress, social standing, how you’re perceived, self confidence > youthful skin is good > old skin is bad > the sun ages your skin > UVB peaks around noon > UVA stays high all day > both damage the skin > I’ve frozen my skin age since starting this project > a 9 year age reversal > I love the sun > wish I could be in it all day > I baked in the sun for first 40 yrs of life > but my goal is to not die > so I’m now sun-aware > I use a sunlight mimicking device for circadian rhythm, mood and energy > and protect from sun damage > I supplement Vit D for optimal levels > tanned skin is a biomarker of damage > ppl will say sun avoidance increases mortality > that study was Swedish women and was observational and not causative > if you enjoy spending time in the sun, I support you > you can do so smartly and limit unnecessary damage

@gracepuregold But even then, the goal isn’t magic dual mode progress.. it’s just smart, consistent training and diet alignment mostly

@gracepuregold You are right. The only exception that comes to mind is when the person is extremely skinny (but also with a little bit of soft so to say in the middle). They can train for recomposition then. Building and losing that stubborn fat at the same time.

My personal take: Most people should focus on fat loss before building serious muscle. Am I wrong?

@Thebiglade Just basics done consistently. Good food, regular movement, sunlight, family, good friends. Add some wine in moderation, shared with people you love, good meals, real connection, and a mindset that doesn’t obsess over the perfection projected by social media.

His relationship with alcohol is non existent. Tracking device data gives you an obsession with those metrics, optimization and stuff like that. I will say this again: wine in moderation with good food and good people is part of a social rhythm that reduces stress and improves how people live. Context matters ofc: family, connection, and slowing down are doing most of the health work.

Sun, good food, a glass of wine, and nowhere to rush. European summer just hits different. Not a hack, just a rhythm people forgot. Move more. Stress less. Eat real. That’s the secret.
