This man, Nicholas Jordan Wagter, was declared “certified” without so much as a psychiatric evaluation and forceably detained for having dissenting views of the government. In the Soviet Union, they invented “sluggish schizophrenia” to lock up political dissidents in psychiatric hospitals for years. China does the same today with Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, and anyone questioning the CCP. Cuba still uses psychiatric wards as political prisons.

He added that, in this context, "substantial" refers not only to the probability of conviction but also to the objective strength of the evidence. A biophysics grad was just detained under BC's Mental Health Act. All based on a psychiatrist's opinion after observing him in a cafe. He looked at him & said “I’m certifying you” THAT’S ALL IT TOOK. No warrant. No on scene evaluation. No psych evaluation. No paperwork shown. No chance to comply voluntarily. Just because a psychiatrist saw him in a cafe. Meanwhile, the same city has a documented drug addicts, where one person, has been apprehended 79 times and is still on the street. The government can grab a credentialed researcher off the road in 20 minutes but it can't keep a chronic offender out of the same intersection for more than a week? What a joke.

He dropped off documents at, I presume, Liberal constituency offices? Wouldn't they already either know or not care about what he's telling them? And I still don't see what any of that has to do with the police encounter. They clearly say that they're detaining him because of the meeting with the mental health doctor. What does any of that have to do with what's being discussed in the video of him and the police? I have no angle here other than truth and transparency. If this guy is being institutionalized without a psych evaluation and with no prior history or diagnosis of any mental health concerns, then, yeah, that's an absolutely MASSIVE issue. But if he was detained by the police for an unrelated issue that had nothing to do with the visits to the MLA offices, then it's not. I know things are bad and getting worse, but I don't think we're at the point, yet, where going to constituency offices and recording yourself handing out documents (which is legal) is going to cause a chain reaction of phone calls or emails to the effect where someone with any actual authority in the Liberal Party is going to have an innocent person institutionalized.

Everyone needs to calm down over this one. There's some important context missing, here. This would generally only happen in Canada if someone has expressed to a psychiatrist that they intend to harm themselves or someone else. If that doctor isn't able to have them detained at the time, they refer it to the police. It sounds like they have been trying to get in contact with him for this reason. They couldn't find him when they went looking for him, so there was most likely a BOLO issued. His plate got picked up and the officer would have had a note to detain him. Without the missing context, though, it's difficult to say, but it seems like this is the most likely scenario. So, no, police aren't just pulling people over and then arbitrarily taking them off to psych wards.

Why are you using an unsourced unreferenced piece of so called evidence from the USA with regards to a case and story based in Canada? If you can’t provide statistics and evidence from even the correct country, why should we listen to anything you might possibly say? I know three people who worked in the exact hospital in maternity on the day and question and there were zero abnormal baby deaths in hospital.

Dr. Daniel Nagase does not currently hold an active medical license in Canada. His registration status is officially inactive/cancelled in Alberta (for non-payment and non-renewal) and he resigned his license in British Columbia while facing disciplinary hearings. Bruchet fled legal confinement while under lawful medical care.
