Jim Chanos - who has shorted broken businesses for 40 years - breaks the math: Starlink mobile is the only real, cash-generating operation. It supports maybe a couple hundred billion. That leaves roughly $1.5T assigned to data centers in space, Mars colonies, and factories on the moon.
Chanos misses the obvious deals with Anthropic and Google just before the IPO in the analysis - but points to a broken thesis on SpaceX Valuations.
On June 11, Chanos declined to confirm a short until he saw where the stock traded. Four days later stock is at $192.
