The thing that pisses me off the most is the PR language of “enhanced lighting” I just refuse to believe that It’s not enhancing the lighting. It’s not actually rendering graphics. It’s not changing the engine in any way IT. IS. A. FILTER.

@ceno02 @kelskiYT Nvidia released a screen-space raytracing solution a few years ago, the problem is that it had like no marketing and no one used it.

@kelskiYT If it didn't apply Instagram filter to faces it wouldn't be as half as bad, because it does try to mimic raytracing and stuff, but it just takes too many creative liberties. Also, considering how resource intensive this is, it won't be widespread for at least 6 more years at best

I've been a dlss hater since day 1 and something that's always bothered me is it feels like some game devs are building games around it now. I hate turning off dlss and the hair on characters turns into a stringy pixelated mess 😭 and no amount of AA can help.
