A man is a man, and a woman is a woman. The CREATOR did not intend for a man to kneel before a woman; instead, it should be the woman kneeling before the man. In the Western world, it's accepted for a man to kneel when proposing, but in Africa, the expectation is that the woman kneels to accept the man's proposal. We need to start pushing our women to kneel.

@iamgbenga @instablog9ja Women at their core are absolutely selfish and self centered. What would become of the child if something happens to her

@instablog9ja If you become pregnant by a faceless man’s sperm, you could have become pregnant by any man and let that child have the privilege of having a father. Now you have a child but the child doesn’t have a father. Selfishness.

Choosing single motherhood at 47 was an embrace of my own autonomy — Former CNN anchor Isha Sesay opens up about giving birth via IVF Award-winning British-Sierra Leonean journalist and former CNN International anchor Isha Sesay has revealed that she chose to become a single mother through IVF after realizing that waiting for the “right man” could mean missing her chance to have a child. Speaking with Larry Madowo on African Voices, Sesay said becoming a mother had always been part of her life plan, but her journalism career eventually took priority. “I had wanted to have a baby. It was always on the list of things that I was going to do. And then I got to CNN. And it just became about the work,” she said. She explained that everything changed after her mother suffered a catastrophic stroke, forcing her to confront the reality of life and reassess what truly mattered. As her biological clock continued to tick, Sesay decided to pursue motherhood on her own. She stressed that her decision was not an att@ck on men, but a deeply personal choice. “Some people take it as though I did it as an affront or a rejection of men. It’s not a rejection of anyone. It is an embrace of my own autonomy,” she said. Reflecting on the decision, Sesay admitted that remaining childless would have been her greatest regret. “Not having a child would be the greatest regret of my life. And with my biological clock ticking down, if I was waiting for the right man to come along before I did it, well, I might find myself out of time,” she said. Her path to motherhood was far from easy. She underwent multiple IVF cycles, fibroid surgery, hormone treatments and endured failed embryo transfers before finally welcoming her daughter in 2024. Sesay also disclosed that caring for her mother, who remained in a semi-conscious state for nearly nine years before her death in June 2025, influenced her decision to leave CNN after 13 years. Reflecting on her journey, Sesay said losing her mother was a prolonged and painful experience, while her determination through multiple failed IVF attempts eventually led to the fulfilment of her lifelong dream of becoming a mother.

I write this with pain in my heart. On April 23, 2026, I bought a car on loan after trading in my former car, which had become a constant source of problems. I still had an outstanding balance of ₦4.5 million to pay. On April 28, 2026, I was taken away by the Nigerian Army under the guise of DSS officials. For three days in their custody, I was subjected to treatment that left deep scars on me physically, emotionally, and mentally. Throughout those three days, I remained handcuffed and blindfolded. During the day, I was left under the scorching sun for hours without water. I begged and cried for water, but nobody gave me any. At night, I was kept in an extremely cold room where I would cry and plead for help, but no one responded. I also received random slaps from unidentified individuals. Even after the court granted me bail, the trauma did not end. I still wake up suddenly at night, struggling to sleep as memories of those days continue to haunt me. What breaks my heart even more is that the car I bought on loan was damaged. Sometimes I ask myself: what exactly did I do to deserve such treatment? My only “offence” was speaking up and asking that my brothers and sisters serving in the military should be properly fed and cared for. Today, I can truly say that Nigeria happened to me. But despite everything, one thing remains certain: Justice can never be cracked.
