Art is basically completely worthless politically. Artists like to conceive of themselves as way bigger and more impactful than they actually are, but the the combined practical effect of hundreds of years of political art has been nothing.

The decline of Favreau and Filoni’s corner of Star Wars has been surreal to watch. It technically started with S2 of The Mandalorian, but no one noticed over the cameo fest. Every story since, from Book of Boba Fett onward, has been a creative clusterfuck.



There seems to be some confusion where people are assuming that because most stories will have emotional stakes attached to fights (Luke vs Vader in ROTJ) that that somehow negates the existence of physical stakes, as though those two don’t go hand in hand.
