That said, the determination for the coalition to rid itself if these British aircraft was clear to see. Furthermore, the austerity-led cuts in defence spending has left the UK extremely vulnerable.

I sometimes wonder what the point is. We don’t have tankers that can refuel C17 Globemaster 3 because they need a boom so use US tankers. We don’t have tankers that can mid air refuel Poseidon P8s because they need a boom. Starmer continues to burn bridges with the US so they’re within their rights to tell us to sod off. Air Tanker services are waiting for the government to make a decision on investment. Does the Government not understand the requirement for the ability to mid air refuel. That includes the QRF Typhoons that require one to be airborne when they are
