@P3sportscience @ringer I called on you for comment, but you were too busy at backyard bowls to call my ass back.

It doesn’t just seem like calf and hamstring injuries are plaguing the NBA. The data confirms it. What’s behind this worrying trend, and what can the league do about it?

Not sure yet. It’s called The It Factor and it goes in depth how the greatest athletes develop “it” - I’ve talked to four of the GOATs but want to talk to more of them before finalizing the book.

@DrewHanlen When is the next book releasing

@embiiddropped70 Embiid is one of, if not the fastest learner I’ve worked with. One move that stands out is the hesi jumper. He wasn’t a great ball handler at the time, so he had to improve his handles & footwork to master it but did so in like two weeks.
English

@DrewHanlen what is a skill u think embiid has mastered way quicker compared to most guys
English

@oluwawavyy__ To be honest, you just gotta get a ton of reps. Low dribbles, pound dribbles, inside out dribbles, tap dribbles, pocket dribbles, etc
English

@DrewHanlen What are tips for someone trying to work on their weak dribble hand?
English

@peterderyck I think the best way is to use deliberate practice to build fundamentals & use live/decision making drills/constraints to make it second nature
English

@DrewHanlen is it possible to acquire skills true only a constraints led approach?
English

Fundamentals need to be established before you move to game-specific training. That’s what allows you to be successful at the things you do in games. Everything should be progressive!
Fundamental -> Skills -> Game Skills
Live reps prepare players for games!
Kevin Vicencio@CoachVicencio
@DrewHanlen How do you balance fundamentals vs. game-specific training?
English

Strictly basketball skill would be shooting. Defending, decision making, finishing & ball handling would round out my top 5.
But more important, I’d emphasize daily habits. How they eat/sleep/lift/train/practice/etc. So many players aren’t consistent enough & it holds them back.

@DrewHanlen What’s the most important skill and/or concept to emphasize to young HS players? Asking from a coaches perspective.

Brandon Jennings says the Boston Celtics need to fire head coach Joe Mazzulla and trainer drew Drew Hanlen for clearing Jayson Tatum to play this season
English

@RicSanturri @BeholdPaleH0rse LOL… can’t take credit for either one but we do stress getting the ball over the rim with high arc to give it a chance!!
English

@BeholdPaleH0rse @DrewHanlen do you teach this shot, First Halliburton, and now Barrett, who both train with you
English

Big ups to @jaytatum0 for working his ass off to get back on the court this season!
Was dominant in the playoffs after 10 months off of basketball.
