These swamp coolers are also common in New Mexico. They're cheap to run and fit dry climates pretty well, but man do they suck when it gets really hot outside. The hotter it is/more humid the air is, the less useful they get. We quickly purchased a central HVAC system when we bought a home that had a swamp cooler. Best $10k ever spent.

This man is in Phoenix, Arizona visiting his daughter. It is 108* there!🥵 He noticed this unit on top of her house and wondered why it isn’t on the ground like most houses. He asked her and she said that was the way it was when they bought the house. Why would this be on top of the roof? I’ve lived in 5 different states and never seen them on the roof. And notice how big it is, it’s huge! Why would they be on the roof? What’s the reasoning? And 108*? Are people really digging a 108* weather? Could you handle that?

@aarondfrancis Hey Aaron, did anything change with the solo.yml file format? I have 7 commands that all fail to start now, and the only way to get them to start is by editing each one and changing the storage to Local.

Your terminal now has an MCP Agents can spawn agents • Codex → Claude • Claude → Amp • Amp → Gemini Whatever you want! They can chat back and forth, dispatch tasks, monitor, do research, read output, and set durable wakeup timers.

I've been working on something to make writing a rock solid product spec way, way easier (and kinda fun) I've focussed on socratic elicitation > verbose chats If you'd like to try it, I'd love to do a user interview with you—drop a comment and I'll fire you a DM 💛

Day 1 of building my own personal finance tracking app. All fully functional (with dummy data). This would have taken me months of work to accomplish not very long ago. So wild.

@ryancarson @alex_frantic @linear I just tried this out with a simple "Add a one-line comment at the top of README.md with today's date as a test" ticket and it used almost 900k tokens 😲 That can't be right?

@aarondfrancis Is there a way to disable the last terminal command from showing? My last command required `sudo` so the last text I entered was my computer password which is just chillin on my screen! 🙈

The new Solo desktop app has been in the hands of beta users for about a week! Now rolling it out to 25% of regular users. If all goes well, it'll be generally available tomorrow! Your single app for working with every agent and managing your dev stack 🤤

Even when I used a property management company to handle everything when I rented my house out (I moved out of state), the stress was still there. I agree that there's a price on your mental state, and if you don't want to be a landlord, you’re probably better off selling and removing that constant worry entirely.

Okay what would you do? We moved from our “starter home” (2.25% 20-yr fixed) to our “forever home” (6.5% fml). We’ve finally cleaned out the old house and have people in there painting / grouting / fixing holes. Still torn on whether we should sell it or rent it out. I’d love to sell it, take the cash, pay down the new mortgage. But people keep telling me it would be foolish to get rid of a hard asset with that low of a mortgage rate.

Claude Code used to insert attached images inline with the message, which made referencing them easy. Now that it doesn’t, I find myself explicitly calling out which image I’m referring to. Do I actually need to do that, or does Claude already track where an image was pasted in the conversation context?

Ran up a $1500 dinner tab and when the receipt came back they had those cute little “suggested tips” printed like I’m supposed to casually drop another $300 just because someone carried plates from kitchen to table. I left $25 which honestly felt generous considering I already paid restaurant-level prices for the food itself. Server immediately got weird about it, attitude switched, barely a thank you, just that tight smile people do when they think you violated some unspoken rule. I told her straight up tipping isn’t a percentage subscription service and I’m not funding someone’s rent just because the bill happened to be high. Manager wandered over trying to smooth it out, hinting about “industry standards” like that magically obligates me. That only made me dig in harder because nowhere else do you get charged more for the exact same task just because the total went up. So I signed it exactly how it was, stood up, and walked out while they all stared like I committed financial treason, and if they think I’m coming back there to play along with that system again they’re seriously confused. @aarondfrancis This is super minor but it would be great if you could reorder the processes within a project! Really digging the app though, amazing job.

I'm busy squashing the first round of bugs, but I've seen several people ask for support for Claude Code *inside* of Solo. Well... you can just add a new process and run `claude`. Enjoy! Anything you can run in your terminal you can run in Solo.

I found two incredible "artists" today on Spotify, only to realize they are both AI generated. It's insane how good AI generated music sounds, but also kind of scary how indistinguishable this stuff is now.

Super excited to share a small bet I've been working on... A short course on how to build in public on Twitch! Streaming over the last 5 years has: 🚀 allowed me to ship often & consistently 🌱 helped me outgrow my perfectionism 🫂 connected me with an amazing community 🤝 presented me with countless opportunities In summary, streaming has been life changing for me, and I think it could be for you, too The idea came on a call with @greggilbertme last week when he mentioned he wanted to pay me to teach him how to get started streaming on Twitch (thanks Greg!) Link in bio, check it out! #buildinpublic

@kentcdodds So I only have one test right now that interacts with the DB, so this is just in a single test file, but you could move this to its own `setup.js` file and just reference it in your `setupFilesAfterEnv` array in `jest.config.js`. I know you're using Cypress, might be different.
