It’s never my intent to politicize the death of a fallen first responder. And John is the family member of a close friend. The entire city is devastated. The entire city is also exhausted by preventable tragedies. I’m curious why you’ve never made mention of other fallen officers - specifically latino and black. No mention of Officer Krystal Rivera. Enrique Martinez. Luis Huesca. Areanah Preston. Why is that?

Armenians should not serve in Congress. Neither should Somalis. Or Guatemalans. Or — wait for it— Israelis. If you are a citizen of a foreign country, you shouldn’t serve in ours. We need to pass my bill to stop the invasion of dual citizens in Congress. NOW.

Given the news today that Spirit Airlines is shuttering and thousands of people are losing their jobs, I think we should honestly assess whether the Garland DoJ stopping the JetBlue merger with Spirit Airlines was the right call. Perhaps it was but any analysis must consider as part of the equation the loss to so many families ro decide.


im pro-piracy but hate when ppl say JSTOR, justice department, etc "killed" aaron swartz. he could have taken a plea deal and gotten 6 months! not just but not worth killing yourself over & he wasnt even convicted yet! he was being melodramatic! many such suicides!
