@JMOFRMDEEP @JudyStroyer67 I'm not mad at wild dogs, but I don't want them running loose in my town... I'm mad at the public officials that made it possible that they do.

Black people are ruining Iowa City. A little while ago, I was walking past the playground in the Ped Mall. Two Black homeless guys were on the ground fighting, while another one sits on the bench. After staring a little too long, the guy on the bench yell at me - “HEY.”

@InvestingAddict I've never completely bought the "children cost ____hundreds of thousands of dollars to raise" line. We raised two boys, and I just don't believe it.

@MarcosMillaYT Don't borrow money to buy a depreciating asset and you won't overspend on cars (or trucks🙄). But don't drive an $80k vehicle when you make $60k.

Would you still buy a $75,000 BMW if you realized that no one cares what you drive? What if you bought a $20,000 Honda instead and invested the rest into $VOO Over 30 years, that costed you $1 million…. I hope you like your fancy car.

@Fincey47 @20th_Centurygal This song was the theme for my HS homecoming in 1978 and will always remind me of a pretty dark haired girl named Janice. 😊

Name one song you consider a masterpiece. I know it’s not easy to choose just one, but that’s what makes it a challenge.

@20th_Centurygal Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd I'm not a PF fan, but the song is practically perfect, with 2 of the greatest guitar solos of all time.

@DivesTech We all knew that cell phones were going to be transformative back in the late 90s, but most people would have told you that market leaders Nokia and Motorola would win out...back when AAPL was a joke and GOOG hadn't started. The big AI winners probably don't exist yet. TBC

AI Revolution will translate into trillions being spent over the coming years for well positioned tech winners...the stocks on the other hand currently reflecting the opposite with Anthropic fears running rampant…will prove to be a fictional narrative as tech winners prove out🎯

@IowaBOP @IowaReport I’ve only been to less than a dozen games, even though I’m old. Small sample size. That said, the Dallas Clark 95 yard td against Purdue in 2002 (I think).

@theliftnginvstr @GuyTalksFinance Your perspective and your focus will change when you don't owe anything to anyone. Don't borrow against your house to invest in the market to "make the spread." Focus on behavior and mindset, not just math. ✌️

@GuyTalksFinance This is a battle I am constantly having with myself. I agree, the mental relief of being debt free is unmatched. However the math is the math. Throwing and extra $600 at 3.85% mortgage or into an ETF… The answer is obvious.

At the moment paying off my mortgage early is my main priority. It might not be the smartest financial investment on paper but the freedom of being debt free can’t be put on a spreadsheet. I’ll have 20 years of investing more money once I’m completely mortgage free.

@tomorr53 @GuyTalksFinance So it's better to have a mortgage when you lose your job? 🤔 How many months' expenses do you think one should have in an emergency fund? NM. I've lived long enough to know what works and what is internet finance theory.

@GuyTalksFinance As long as people know that they’re sacrificing a large amount of their net worth overtime and exchange for peace of mind then this is totally fine My net worth would probably be half of what it was if I dumped it all into my mortgage when I was younger

@InvestingAddict That's pretty much what I do. Most professional money managers don't outperform the S&P 500, but most bozos with a computer and a Schwab account think they can. If you're not Buffett or Lynch, stick to the market long term.

Right now aside from Bitcoin I only own the S&P 500. Roth, 401k, and brokerage all track the S&P. I have thought about opening a position in $QQQ or $QQQM for tech exposure. I will always stay majority in the S&P as it outperforms most investors. Any thoughts or tips?

@atensnut He thanked God in his 2014 Best Actor acceptance speech. I'm not going to worry about the fine points that others choose to discect. 🙏 "First of all, I want to thank God. He has graced my life with opportunities that I know are not of my hand or any other human hand."

@NotA_Bull 🐂💩 How old are you? 🤨 I've lived through 1987, 1999-2001, 2007-2008 as an adult. I'm wealthy because of the overall stock market over decades. I did buy APPL in 2006 and later sold it for a lot of money, but it's not how I got wealthy. Consistent investing is.

Index funds are for staying wealthy, not for building wealth. If you're under 30, you should be hunting for 10x growth stocks, not 8% returns. Agree or Disagree?

Just heard the best/worst caller on the Dave Ramsey podcast. Married couple, under 30. $145,000 household income. Came on the show to celebrate paying off the mortgage on their $450,000 Georgia home. Said they starting paying it off early 5 years ago, meaning they had a low interest rate home loan (probably <3%) and started to aggressively pay it down right as interest rates were starting to rise. Dave Ramsey loved it, launching into a lecture about how 26-year olds who say they can’t buy homes should look at this couple for inspiration. Hahaha.

@Sir_Charles_01 @UziCryptoo You have more opportunities to make money than I ever did. My only option was to get a second job or mow more lawns. You can start & grow multiple businesses without getting off your ass from behind a computer because of this fancy internet thing that we Boomers didn't have.

@real_frenchy @UziCryptoo Not paying off your mortgage early is stupid. 🙄 I was stupid, then I paid off my mortgage and now have more money than anyone I know. Maybe even more than you... 🤔💵😎 We can all do the simple math, it's the change in behavior wrt money that matters.
