I’ve gone s bit quiet on social media because I’ve been taken into hospital. Feeling pretty ropey and I’ve got a raging infection that has wiped me out.

@abbott567 @expressvpn Just found the same with insta. Fed up with Twitter as finding posts is a nightmare. Yours and Nicki’s are the ones read the most and interact with so would have thought would be findable sobs. Hope life’s good with you.

Since the last update 2 days ago, Instagram now no longer works with @expressvpn. Instead of having the desired effect of forcing me to lower my blast shields, I just consider it another nail in the coffin for these toxic social media platforms. I’m so done with the big 3.

@abbott567 @equalsShaun Having to remind myself of that this week as well, a big low here as well after a call with a colleague who was struggling. It’s the importance and human impact of the job we do that make it soo hard.

@equalsShaun When I had a similar role, I took on too much in workload and responsibility. I put expectations on myself to fix everything, which was amplified because accessibility is so important. Try to remember you’re one guy, and changing culture and structures in organisations is slow!

Finally caught covid. Can only assume it was the person sat next to me on the plane, who coughed for like 9 straight hours on the flight from Texas. It feels like a game of hide and seek, where you did so good, that by the time you were found, everyone else had stopped playing!

@Finnberrys Really great advice. If you consider doing part two we’ve had a lot of success tailoring office templates to match needs, the inbuilt screen readers (immersive reader etc) can also be useful. Everyone is different so even simple options like changing task bar location can help.

@abbott567 Outstanding blog. Amazed how few product owners know that 20.9% of our organisation have a disability and the massive benefits for everyone for having inclusive content from the very beginning. Having specialists to educate is everything thanks for making that happen for us.
