@jdunn31673 @burchie_kid The team has no mental fortitude something Todd has been working to instill in them since he got there. He still has a voice in the locker room bc players respect him and he has a way of getting guys to roughing tf up at points we saw this against BUF it has to translate.
English

@burchie_kid I'm fairly certain they have tuned Todd out already. How many times can you go to the well before people just dont wanna hear it anymore? He's always bagging on the players, but does he hold any responsibility in this? He certainly acts like he doesnt.
English

Todd McLellan: “That was a disappointing response after a big win for us in Buffalo. I think there’s more in a lot of guys. I think some guys came to compete — but not think at all. The stuff we did was training camp material, and here we are at Game 73.”
Will Burchfield@burchie_kid
Red Wings: 86 points in 73 games, minus-3 goal differential Flyers: 84 points in 72 games, minus-4 goal differential The Wings have outplayed their reality for most of the season. It’s catching up to them at a hauntingly familiar time.
English

@MTRWGA @burchie_kid Todd is very blunt and to the point, I love it!
English

@burchie_kid This is what I've been saying for 3 seasons. There's more in a lot of guys. We have several players capable of getting on the score sheet more that aren't. You can't blame Yzerman for that. They're underperforming. They did more... Until they came here. Why??
English

@CassellDawg17 I don’t think we’ve run him into the ground I think we just overplayed him and he needs a day off or two which in our opinion isn’t a luxury we can afford rn
English

It was literally always just Gibson carrying us and we ran him into the ground(like Bernier, like Husso, like Lyon) because Steve went with a washed 40 year old as a backup 👍

@lordbitememan @SeiderG65609 @tim_c_23 Let’s also mention Laf is 25 and was expected to be a stud picked 1st overall not a solid second line player on a bad rags team
English

@SeiderG65609 @tim_c_23 Okay, Lafreniere in New York was in the same situation as Kasper in his sophomore season. With about the same TOI per game he managed nearly double the offense of Kasper’s sophomore season, and Laf is looking like a second line player. What’s Kasper going to be at half that?
English

All 4 are the same age or younger than Slaf who is just now having his first great season after being drafted 1OA 😭😭😭
The Habitant@the_habitant
It feels like just yesterday when these 4 were being hyped up as the “next wave” of talent in the Yzerplan 😭
English

@lordbitememan @tim_c_23 Kasper having a sophomore slump…totally normal for development, if this continues next season maybe we look further into it but for now it’s probably okay.
English

@tim_c_23 Finnie, ASP, and Danielson are rookies so yeah. It’s not looking so hot with Kasper.
English

@the_habitant @OS_v_38 Not the entire fanbase but the kid came out looking like he was something else and that was what put him in those conversations then he cooled down quite a bit.
English

@OS_v_38 Entire wings fanbase was putting him in Calder talks
English

@WeAreLight05 @mathewjdp Largely because we still have a depth issue esp at the forward position, less so defensively but we are very top 6 heavy. I can understand the hesitancy when you have no depth. One guy won’t solve that, and the price was insane definitely wasn’t going to solve it.
English

@mathewjdp Should have traded cossa (and other picks) for a a Robert Thomas but Yzerman so scared to trade prospects.
English

@Oilersfan_91 @mathewjdp And Edmonton would have to overpay the hell out of Steve for him to even consider moving cossa. Steve has said he is not willing to move on from top end prospects. Like Danielson or Cossa so it would definitely need to be an overpay.
English

@mathewjdp Cossa would be nice in edmonton. How ever I would want to move jarry some how and sign Ingram.
But not sure how I feel about Ingram / Cossa tandem..
English

@mathewjdp @jeresells Detroit would not be interested in Nurse it’s gonna cost you a young player with top 6 caliber and a first likely though given the fact that Steve has said he is unwilling to move on from top young talent I doubt cossa goes anywhere unless you overpay.
English

@jeresells A 1st + prospect. I dont see Cossa costing more than that. Edm can pay that. Id keep an eye on Nurse in a trade for Cossa.
English

@YzeRohan @seiderlarkin I like the thinking we should blame those pesky canadians, they are clearly the problem lmao
English

We are not going to blame Larkin, get out of here with that nonsense
dhead32@dragonshead88
@seiderlarkin Yearly occurrence under Larkins leadership. Come to just be used to it at this point.
English

Just fire Steve Yzerman today rip the damn bandaid off and let’s actually start winning Stanley Cups and do the same thing the Lightning did you see what they did after they FIRED STEVE YZERMAN 😤 #LGRW go wings but damn what has
Steve done to stay employed here as GM?
English

@ShowtimeIHT88 @30Troxel87 Apparently he was on the hot seat in Tampa according to this guy…there is no evidence of this. He transitioned into a higher role, then moved on to Detroit.
English

@30Troxel87 Yzerman willingly left the Lightning to return to Detroit. Wasn’t fired. Moron.
English

@Cosmicneurons13 @30Troxel87 Yeah just like Justin Faulk also it is worth noting the lightning did not fire Steve he moved into a diffrent role with the organization for a year before coming to Detroit…
English

@30Troxel87 I’m not saying you are wrong I’m also not gonna say you are correct.
English

@30Troxel87 After stepping down they went on a run making the cup final in 2019 them again in 2020 and 2021 where they’d win it 2x and yzerman was largely credited with building that team setting them up for future success.
English

@3rdRateWeirdAl @HockeytownRD They have to win 7/10 to even have a shot and need to stop playing flat I agree
English

@Drifting282 @HockeytownRD Yeah I’m sure they’ll stop dropping like a stone any day now
English

@3rdRateWeirdAl @HockeytownRD They are a point out with a game in hand on the sens, the islanders and the bluejackets they also hold the tiebreaker over Philly.
English

@HockeytownRD Nope. They’re not done but at this point they’ve probably got to win 7 of 9
English

@HockeytownRD Coming after a loss this poll has to have some recency bias being as they are still only a point out with a game on the team above and below them and they still hold the tiebreaker over Philly…
