It’s very concerning @cz_binance that a 140k plus was scammed from a user in the space and reported to @binance after tracking the funds to a binance account and this account has not been frozen during what is supposed to be a investigation instead funds continue to go into this account And to top it all off after looking at the account it appears 2.7 million over the last month and 28 million over the last year have went into this account maybe @zachxbt would be willing to help with this And just to be clear I’m not trying to fud @binance @cz_binance just looking for some assistance

Retail interest is gone for several reasons. Main reason is the macro environment and monetary policy. Secondary reasons are because 99.999% of the asset class is a joke. The constant launch of shitcoins disincentivized developers from actually developing useful things within the space. I talked to many who just left for other industries. Why should many of them build in crypto when some degen launching a shitcoin on a Tuesday will attract more capital? If retail participants did not reward memecoins so much by investing in those projects, perhaps developers would have been incentivized to actually build something useful. During uncertain times with tight monetary policy, people flock to things that make more sense (this cycle that was BTC). The reason everything else bled (for the most part) is because most people do not trust it. The reason people do not trust it is because the entire space essentially just became one rug pull after another. Memecoins are not the only problem, but they have absolutely led to a massive misallocation of capital, and they have made many retail participants hate the space. Who cares if a memecoin brings in a few people? If the memecoin then rugs, most of those people never come back. As an industry, we lost our way. The entire industry devolved into a shitcoin casino, and we should not pretend that is not part of the problem.

The end of the memecoin phase won’t be the end of crypto. It’ll be the beginning of capital flowing back into assets with staying power. Excess gets washed out. Foundations get rebuilt.
