@DipDianne @afneil It’s preposterous to suggest he meant the UK. Out of all the Euro countries he could’ve been talking about. And after the love-in we had in DC, our commitment to increase spending, and Vance’s own clarification. The UK is the last country Vance would be taking a pop at.
English

This is absurdly dishonest.
I don’t even mention the UK or France in the clip, both of whom have fought bravely alongside the US over the last 20 years, and beyond.
Antonello Guerrera@antoguerrera
Bad news for Starmer and Macron. Vance confirms the only US security guarantee in Ukraine will be the mineral deal. He also plays down British & French peacekeeping troops as “20k troops from some random country that hasn’t fought a war in 30 or 40 years”.
English

@AngelaTilby I think more that recent events just expose the thinness of Trump’s skills as an interlocutor and politician. Indeed, if he were a Russian asset, he’d probably be more discrete.
English

@oliviapope526 @JordanSchachtel Being popular doesn’t make you right. Whether it means you win.. now that’s an interesting point.
Nice closing statement though, great rhetoric.
English

@JordanSchachtel My comment so far has 75 likes and yalls responses have basically none so I win 💁🏽♀️ SUCK ON THAT!
English

@oliviapope526 @JordanSchachtel Okay, let’s assume you’re right. What’s the threat?
English

@JordanSchachtel I would say that statement was a threat.
English

@ThePujaTeli @DavidGHFrost Ah yes, back when we were promised the ‘easiest deal in history’ because we held ‘all the cards’, and so on.
English

@ThePujaTeli @DavidGHFrost Well, meaningless referenda that don’t actually specify what’s being decided are meaningless.
We needed to agree what brexit meant before the vote, not afterwards.
English

We knew it was coming, but now seemingly confirmed: Britain will return to alignment with EU food standards and climate change rules and accept ECJ jurisdiction.
Shame on you Keir Starmer and Nick Thomas-Symonds for selling out this country's self-government to a foreign court.

@VictoriaDarragh @RhonddaBryant Agreed, the misleading/false justification given for military intervention in Iraq was wrong. Not sure how it has bearing here though.
Are you saying it was a cause for the downsizing of our armed forces during the conservative and coalition period?
English

@RhonddaBryant They may well have done Chris but some of us have got long memories on the last Labour government and your military decisions. Iraq and Afghan ring any bells sweetie?
English

@MrJamesMay @tobyfoster I'm sure the families of the 24 people fatally stabbed in London last year will be chuckling along with this drollery.
English

@Cala199305 @jfazli @ConservBlue2020 @elonmusk You have to go three comments deep to find someone who can divide 44 by 8 these days. That’s the bigger issue with Musk’s new twitter regime.
English

@SerenadingD @kornpaup @MattWallace888 It’s almost as if they built them to be stealthy or something
English

@kornpaup @MattWallace888 Many civilian aircraft, especially airliners, have a TCAS system - traffic alert and collision avoidance. This alerts and forces a response to avoid accidents.
Most military aircraft are not equipped with this.
English

@stedavies @RoryStewartUK Pretty sure Rory didn’t say anything that would preclude JD Vance, just that money and politics are bedfellows in America in a unique way (for now, at least).
English

The idea that it is “only in America” that ordinary people can become politicians is often repeated. But in reality US politics is more dominated by money and privilege than any democracy on earth. And countries like Britain have had many more examples as John says (Ramsay MacDonald , John Major. Add David Blunkett, David Davis, Angela Rayner…
John Duffield@jfwduffield
Ramsay MacDonald grew up as an illegitimate child in a Scottish croft & became British Prime Minister. John Major grew up in Brixton bedsit.
English

@TiceRichard @reformparty_uk Do you hold shares in, or receive any funding from those involved, in non-renewable power generation? Just wondering.
English

Britain is running out of electricity
So prices go up
Thanks to Net Zero
Thanks to Tories & Labour
Scrap Net Zero = lower bills, lower cost of living
Only @reformparty_uk can make you better off

Our forecasts are showing tight margins on the electricity system for Wednesday evening between 4-7pm.

@jimmymitch1973 @RhonddaBryant I think, just maybe, there’s a distinction to be drawn between the kinds of abuse exhibited in your reply and the satirical wit in the shared post.
English

@RhonddaBryant So you’re happy for MOs to get online abuse, you even laugh at it except when it’s one of your MPs?
Funny that, another example of Labour hypocrisy.
Fucking scum.
English

@noble_road @elonmusk Bless you, probably believe that don’t you?
English

@elonmusk We saved them from Hitler. France too. We gotta do it again?
English

@badazn Weird that there are no documents, outlines, plans, etc. of the extermination. Hitler never mentioned it. How odd.
And why did Auschwitz have a prisoner swim team??
English

@Estelle_Flee @WecopsCaroline While it is largely used in US English I’m pretty sure it’s short for ‘copper tops’ referring to the Victorian British constables metal topped helmets… FWIW
English

@WecopsCaroline I like this but I’m surprised do British police refer to themselves as cops!? I always thought that was Americans. I’ve never said cops.
