@SSBMInky When (if ever) do you think the rankings were good, when did you start playing, and when did you become good enough to feasibly be on them (assuming adequate travel and median performances)?

Respectfully, if you've followed rankings long enough, you know they've been dogshit for years
They should lump people into general tiers and call it a day. I've yet to see a ranking in 2020 where I thought "this is where the players belong and I'd have them there too"

@trailsucks @LatinSSBM I think it's just completely off base to frame playing video games as an investment in the first place.
Parents don't sign kids up for basketball to invest in them becoming the next Lebron They do it for fun and the other benefits. Should be the same gaming for yourself.

@LatinSSBM Just like anything in life it’s all about balance. But it really is easy to get addicted to the dopamine rush of the grind, especially with netplay being a thing. If you’re spending 2+ hours every night, that is a huge time sink for not much payoff in the grand scheme of life.

Armada is obviously a massive roadblock for most contenders for this hypothetical, even over a decade ago. Don't underestimate mentality. Most contenders have never "mentally" won a major.
But it raises another key question:
