These inmates are being released from prison after serving sentences that are in some cases a life time for folks.
It's kind of sad to hear them speak of the harsh reality of the world they once had that is now over.
The thought of losing everything should be enough deter anyone.
@Saffron_Sniper1 It’s not how deeply they love him. They are terrified to not show devotion to him for fear of reprisal. It really is as simple as that.
When North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un announced,
“Due to a shortage of oil in the country, I will avoid my late night long drives with my wife,”
the entire nation broke down in tears, seeing Kim’s sacrifice.
This is how deeply his people love him 🥹
@skumWgmi I hate this ‘blaming the boomer’ thing.. they didn’t change the world, they were just trying their best to live in it.. it’s not their fault their house is worth what it is now or that they paid off their mortgages.. it was still hard for them.. blame the greedy corporations!
My boomer dad retired at 62.
Full pension.
Paid off house.
Medicare at 65.
Social security at 67.
Told me at Thanksgiving, I just need to be more disciplined with my money,
I make $71,000.
Rent is $1,900.
I have $4,000 in savings.
I didn't say anything.
I passed the rolls.
But here's what i wanted to say:
Your pension was defunded by lobbyists your generation elected.
Your social security is solvent because mine is still paying in.
Your houseis worth $800,000 because mine costs $600,000.
You didn't build differently.
You just got there first.
🚨🇬🇧 Meanwhile in the Britain
“Diesel has gone up even more than petrol - a 27% rise - people are seriously worried they can’t afford to drive their kids to school”
UK Government Minister - “We’ve created a new app to allow people to find the cheapest Fuel locally to them”
@brightafia Most people do what they can (in terms of time available). If you have young children for example, it makes it difficult to clear off to the gym for two hours leaving your partner to deal with it.. if you wait until they are in bed, it’s a tough old slog to be motivated at 9pm
27 years ago, Lennox Lewis & Evander Holyfield ended in a split decision draw, Lewis retaining his WBC & lineal heavyweight titles & Holyfield retaining his WBA & IBF heavyweight titles. One of the worst heavyweight championship decisions ever.
@bigrob24@Lib_Disorder@MattWalshBlog I would have thought a tremendously low IQ thought would have been that he had to climb all the way back down again
@DeborahMeaden why not just try to cancel Grok? - That's the issue not X. I dislike Ai anyway, we managed perfectly well before it and likely to be better off without it again.
Who started the ridiculous X rumour? If you are against this Govt trying to prevent sexualised images of children and Women ( and anyone frankly) then you are lost. This is what they want to do. Jeez… will you please listen up.
@ChrisMid He double speaks once more.
He doesnt want the HOTELS , he would far rather the inhabitants were housed outside of hotels.
You see? it looks like one statement but is in fact another.
Lady with poppy earrings, "I felt it was a good budget" #BBCQT
"It was making the people that can afford it pay more, and the people that can't afford it, we'll have more money to help look after them"
"I think we've got a government that maybe was a bit naive when they said they wouldn't put up income tax, but I don't think it was a deliberate lie that we've had from past governments in their manifesto promises"
@benonwine Why are we giving away £11.6billion in foreign aid was the question.. ignored in favour of, well, what should he have done about the riots!! - clowns all of you
@implausibleblog Regardless of the argument.. £300 A YEAR! is piss in the wind.. It'll make no difference to everyday life. My bills have gone up over £300 A MONTH. Fucking joker.
John Kay, "Bills are going up again. You promised you would be the prime minister that brought bills down"
Keir Starmer, "It's a really important promise. We're already bringing them down by £150 for millions of households"
John Kay, "That help is for poorer families. When you made the promise during the election you were talking about all bills"
Keir Starmer, "Oh no no no I accept that"
John Kay, "You talked about bringing family energy bills down by £300 a year. Since you've entreated Downing Street they've gone up by nearly £200"
Keir Starmer, "Bringing bills down by £150 is for a number of households, poorer households"
John Kay, "What about the £300 for everyone?"
Keir Starmer, "But I'm not, umm, umm, umm, rallying against your challenge that we need to bring all of these bills down. Umm. And putting the policies in place is really important to me personally, that's the commitment that I made"
"Obviously, a large part of this is driven by what's happening in Ukraine, bills are 75% higher"
John Kay, "But that had happened before you made that promise"
Keir Starmer, "I appreciate that. So what we need to do is work with others to resolve the situation in Ukraine, to work again on the £150, and to do more to ensure we are able to bring those bills down"
John Kay, "To be clear, you are still sticking to that £300 promise?"
Keir Starmer, "I want to bring bills down significantly by the next election"
John Kay, "By £300?"
Keir Starmer, "Well yes £300 is the amount we put out there. I know the commitment I made. And I'm determined we're going to bring those bills down"
So if bills have gone up by £200, and the promise was to go down by £300, does that mean the updated commitment is to bring bills down by £500?
@AbsolutelyVexed@Mericamemed So, in your opinion, men moan at supporting their partners whilst wanting to avoid being a parent (or similar with the way you worded it), I’m not even getting involved in your third point. Absolute shite. Go meet a real man. I’m all for equal pay for the record.
Gender pay gap and equal pay are two completely different things.
Gender pay gap shows how we value work typically done by one sex over the other; effects of childcare and pregnancy breaks; effect of promotion prospects based on that you might become pregnant etc.
Men moan at supporting their partners and kids whilst wanting zero inconvenient family responsibilities and boys club workplaces.
