“An entire team from Freeport H.S. - 50 girls - lost the state championship because the boy won the pole-vault event which gives you 10 pts, and the girls’ team lost by 1 pt… that [1 person] affected probably 100 girls that season. And 1 is too many.” - Coach, Official & Maine Girl Dad, Allen Cornwall’s testimony on 4/14 Anyone repeating the myth “it’s not happening here” or saying "it's a manufactured crisis" is gaslighting young female Students and Athletes, and encouraging the continued violation of their sex-based Civil Rights… rights that have existed for over 50 years, and yet are violated every single day in Maine’s schools. Testimony from Allen and from students on 4/14 in Augusta makes it clear that: 🚨 Males are taking away female sports titles and opportunities. This is not a myth. 🚨 Males and Females are different physically, and there is a quantifiable delta in performance. 🚨 Allowing Males into Female sports competitions takes a real mental health toll on young females 🚨 Sex-based discrimination is happening every day in Maine's public schools & sports. 🚨 Sex-designated sports & spaces is inclusive of ALL students. Nobody is ever banned. Sex-based discrimination is regressive, sexist, and illegal, and it MUST end. We cannot discriminate against our state’s most vulnerable population - our children - on the basis of their sex. The ballot referendum to "Designate School Sports Participation & Facilities by Sex" protects the Sex-based Civil Rights of Children. The facts are: ✅ The act respects Gender Identity while recognizing biological fact, and protecting Sex-based Federal Civil rights that have existed for 50+ years. ✅ We have the progressive belief that there is no right or wrong way to be a male or female! Dress, feel, present, identify how you want. Sex is big enough for everyone. ✅ Everyone has a Sex, and Sex is not Gender (definitionally, legally, scientifically) ✅ Nobody is banned. Ever. Everyone plays sports and accesses private spaces, simply designated by Sex. Get involved at ProtectGirlsSportsInMaine.com

@humblesquared @ImMeme0 Blood on her hands... wishful thinking is not justice. Allowing a teen to commit repeated violent acts without much repercussion is not compassion. It is enabling that teen to pursue a bad lifestyle and get in more trouble, while endangering the public. #bailreform

NEW: Repeat offender who had already been arrested several times this year, including for two assaults, killed an elderly man in an unprovoked attack in NYC. Hours before the attack, the NYPD had taken Rhamell Burke to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation after he was reportedly acting irrationally on a Penn Station platform. Mysteriously, he was released just one hour later. A few hours later Burke shoved 76-year-old Ross Falzone, a retired teacher, to his death down subway stairs in Manhattan. Burke was arrested three times in February for assaulting a police officer, burglary, and resisting arrest. In April, he was arrested again for assaulting a stranger. He was later granted supervised release at arraignment.

🇺🇸 A TikTok “trend” just turned deadly in Times Square. A 17-year-old and a crew stabbed a sleeping man to death “for the challenge,” targeting homeless people. And the dude wasn’t even homeless. He was a chill hippie dad of 2, living the Bob Marley life. His sister: “I can’t call my brother again.” Damn... Source: CBS News

From 9/11 to Covid, #Chinatown has endured a lot of disruption over the years. Even now, the city is in the midst of building a massive jail there as businesses and restaurants struggle to reopen. So ya, it does seem a little insensitive that the #Mamdani administration picked one of the busiest brunch days of the year to shut down central Chi-town for a movie shoot. Did local officials really sign off on this? #AQuietPlace3 #Paramount #MadeInNY nypost.com/2026/05/10/us-…

@polispider @MrAndyNgo But why? If they are not a citizen and only have a visa, how can they represent Scottish citizens in Parliament. Are there no Scots who want the job?

You clueless cunt ! Scotland permits certain non-citizens, including qualifying foreign nationals and Commonwealth citizens resident in the UK, to stand for and hold office in the Scottish Parliament, as per the Scottish Elections (Franchise and Representation) Act 2020. Manivannan, an Indian citizen without British citizenship or permanent residency, qualified as a Commonwealth citizen on a valid visa. You mouth breathing little cocksuckers from the US are never knowingly correct !

A trans Indian migrant who arrived in the UK a few years ago and is not a citizen or permanent resident was elected to the Scottish parliament as a member of the woke Green Party. Scotland allows non-citizens to become elected to office. “Q Mannivannan” is set to earn over $100k USD despite not having the right to work full time on his temporary visa.

@karshanandrea @taliaotg @NoahHurowitz But we're talking about illegal "sales" of land in West Bank. Doesn't having an established synagogue promote such sales give them greater legitimacy? Do you support such sales? Even if people are selling land that isn't really theirs to sell?

@taliaotg @NoahHurowitz Maybe they don't show up to the synagogue to buy the land cause there are so many other ways to do it. There are literal real estate agents that deal with property in Israel. All they need to do is reach out to one of them.

Update: I got into the Israel real estate event at Park East Synagogue. Inside I saw at least one table advertising properties in the West Bank, including Kfar Eldad and Karnei Shomron.

@anishmoonka I have several “computer” glasses that I wear at night, including driving. I’ve noticed substantially less eye fatigue from my computer & cellphone. Less glare from LED headlights. How do they work? They have a yellowish tint which makes the blue more green. 😉

Harvard scientists ran a simple test. They put adults under blue light for 6 hours one night, then under green light at the same brightness the next. Blue light pushed their bedtimes back by 3 hours. Green pushed them back by 1.5. And in kids, the same lights hit about twice as hard. The reason comes down to a tiny patch of cells at the back of every human eye. These cells have one job. They tell your brain whether it is day or night. They wake up most when light hits a very specific shade of blue, the same shade phone screens and modern bulbs are loaded with. When those cells fire after dark, the brain stops making melatonin, the chemical that pulls you toward sleep. Red light barely sets off those cells at all. A 2025 study from the University of Zaragoza put people under red lamps and blue lamps for three hours at night. Under blue, their melatonin stayed scraped to the floor. Under red, it climbed back up to more than three times higher. Same brightness. The color did all the work. Children get this worse than adults. Two reasons. Their pupils are bigger, so more light gets in. And the lens inside a kid's eye is still glass-clear, where adult lenses slowly yellow with age and filter blue out naturally. A 10-year-old's body clock is roughly twice as sensitive to evening light as a 45-year-old's. A bedside lamp that feels harmless to a parent can be wrecking a kid's sleep clock at the same time. Then there is the lag. Once the brain catches a dose of blue light, the wake-up signal it sends out keeps echoing for 3 to 4 hours after the lights go off. So a kid on an iPad at 9pm can still be wired at midnight even if you took the iPad away at 9:01. Modern LED bulbs and screens are tuned to roughly 6500 Kelvin. That is sunlight at noon. Old incandescent bulbs sit around 2700, mostly red and yellow with almost nothing in the blue range. To a human eye, a red-lit room is just about as close to no light at all as you can get. The brain reads it as nighttime. The fix is boring. Use warm bulbs at 2700 Kelvin or lower in any room a kid spends evenings in, switch off phones and tablets two hours before bed, and if a night light is needed for bathroom trips, make it red or amber. The science was pinned down to the exact color of light back in 2001.

The cruelty of so many of folks commenting here--all men it seems who feel compelled to drag this woman down rather than acknowledge and celebrate her hard work and achievement....They can't help themselves I guess, but the amplification of such dullards is yet another reminder that social media is toxic. What a 🤡 💩 thing to say....by someone who clearly knows nothing of the role of trainers in horse racing, and who probably thinks nothing when grown men scream and dump big buckets of water and champagne on their teammates to celebrate a big football or hockey win---like wouldn't you call that being emotional?

Someone spoke rudely to you. Someone didn’t give you the attention you deserved. Someone didn’t help when you needed them. Does it really matter? Attachment to people pulls you into mediocrity. It fills your mind with unnecessary thoughts — replaying, analyzing, spiraling over what they said or didn’t do. And before you know it, you’re living a destiny shaped by someone else’s carelessness. Your mind is a palace. Meant for ideas, knowledge, creation. Not a dustbin for garbage thoughts about people who were never that important. Knowledge frees you. It heals you. It leads you to your higher self. And the closer you get to that version of you — the less you obsess over others — the more people actually start chasing you. Not when you beg. When you detach. So drop the mediocrity of over-caring about people who don’t matter. Fill your mind with what elevates you. That’s the path to freedom. And that’s the only chase worth being part of. ✨🙌🏾💫

The most respected nonprofit lender in NYC is telling @NYCMayor’s RGB that buildings are in distress and more will be if we keep heading down this path. When the nonprofit who lends money to build affordable housing tells you we’re in trouble, you better believe it. You may be tired of me saying it but we have academics, nonprofits, and lenders all saying the same thing. Intentionally bankrupting buildings is the opposite of tenant protection.

Wow! As a late mom, I'm feeling this!

Having a baby physically shrinks part of a woman's brain. Having a second baby shrinks a totally different part. Scientists in Amsterdam just figured out why, and the explanation involves the same process that happens in teenage brains. This is from a research group in Amsterdam called the Pregnancy Brain Lab. They published their findings in Nature Communications on February 19, 2026. The team scanned the brains of 110 women. 40 were about to have their first baby, 30 were about to have their second, and 40 had never been pregnant. They scanned everyone before pregnancy and again after birth. The results were so consistent that a computer program could look at any of those brain scans and correctly tell whether the woman had been pregnant. Every single time. When a woman has her first baby, the biggest changes happen in the part of the brain that handles thinking about yourself and other people. The same region that runs daydreaming and inner monologue. That whole area visibly shrinks. And it stays shrunk for at least six years after birth, according to a 2021 follow-up study by the same team. When she has a second baby, that same area shifts a little more, but the biggest changes happen somewhere else. They happen in the part of the brain that controls what you focus on, and the part that controls how your body moves. Even the wiring between the brain and the muscles becomes more efficient. Lead researcher Milou Straathof said it looks like the brain rewiring itself for taking care of more than one kid at a time. The shrinking sounds bad. The lab compares it to what happens in teenage brains during puberty. Hormones flood the brain and trigger a kind of cleanup. Weak connections between brain cells get cleared away. The strong ones stay and get stronger. The brain ends up smaller, but the connections that remain work faster. The hormonal flood of pregnancy seems to do the same thing. Elseline Hoekzema, who runs the Pregnancy Brain Lab and has been studying this since 2017, told CNN: sometimes less is more. The pattern is layered. The first pregnancy does the deep work on identity and how a mom thinks about her baby. The second pregnancy adds a new layer focused on attention and movement. About one in five new mothers globally develops postpartum depression. The same brain circuits being remodeled here are the ones tied to mood and bonding with the baby. Mapping what a healthy maternal brain looks like is the first step toward catching when something goes wrong.
