Cursor gets the compute infrastructure to build its own model instead of rely on its competitors (Anthropic and OpenAI) which would eventually lead to certain death This is probably happening to every 'vibe coding' tool out there The economics make no sense for them. You build a vibe coding tool but you are 100% reliant on Anthropic and OpenAI for models, who are at the same time building their own vibe coding tools, putting margins on your compute, and using models only they have access to to build faster Wins for both sides.
