@RMuero65884 @VirginMathemat1 @suton222 @docbadvibes_ @GarmourCS If not for Karrigan this team shows ZERO fight in map 2 lmfao have watched countless times this year Falcons lose map 1 and are out of map 2 before it even begins, but yeah I’m sure Karrigans energy and calling isn’t a massive factor in the reason they’re winning rounds

@VirginMathemat1 @suton222 @docbadvibes_ @GarmourCS Almost like Karrigan has literally every smoke and util memorized and he controls the flow of the game and communication on the team, Kyxsan could shoot sometimes but couldn’t call, gotta get your teammates in good positions mid round and keep the energy and confidence high

@suton222 @docbadvibes_ @GarmourCS Because 1)They don't have 4 donks, they have 3 top-10 players and an average anchor 2)If just calling was enough you'd see someone like blade still playing I get the logic but at some point you are too much of a weakness I think

@SamAndJoe41205 @FolliesBlue @yanks_IND @YankeeSource Not just this, the fact that SS prospects hold much more value as we saw Leo De Vries get traded for 4 1/2 years of a cheap Mason Miller… wonder how good that trade has been working for them, unsure why we think Trout ever wants to leave LA tbh but guess entertaining it is fun

@FolliesBlue @yanks_IND @YankeeSource I’m fine with trading lombard, but if you really wanted to get trout (who does not make the team better unless he plays a full season and doesn’t fall off at 34), you wouldn’t need to include GLJ. Especially because of trout’s contract 😂

The Yankees could get more than what they gave up for Ryan Weathers if they traded him today. *Note: This is not a trade tweet. Just a value related tweet*

@nathanj12341758 @wilberdata If he thought he was 2 years younger, probably expecting to see more physical body growth/development, since it’s now 2027 and not 2029 they probably view him as underdeveloped or not as for his age or his tools aren’t at the level they thought because they thought he was younger

SOURCE: The Cleveland Guardians canceled the $2.8 million agreement they had with Dominican prospect David Severino after it was discovered that he was two years older than initially reported. Severino was originally eligible to sign in the 2029 international class, but after the investigation it was determined that he actually belongs to the 2027 class, which led to the agreement being terminated.

@OfficialEnola @2024nattyychamp @Ferk___ @61stLos @benlikessport We weren’t talking about modern day avg, we’re talking about Mis 102-104 fastball in 10 ABs, which not many modern stars can really even touch, also I’m sure shit like spin rate etc etc wasn’t as prevalent in that era as much as straight ass fastballs with some velo were

@Duhbreo__ @2024nattyychamp @Ferk___ @61stLos @benlikessport so? that’s still a drastic 10 MPH difference from adjusting from 85 mph to hitting a lifetime AVG of 300 against a guy who threw nothing but HEAT that has never been seen before. babe could do whatever he wants to your modern day pitchers. modern day fastball avg is only 93-95.

@jlhNoles @Wildcats_Braves @Sox_Savant Not arguing really either, obviously he isn’t on this list because the track record really dates back to 23’ definitely think as long as he keeps getting soft contact and limit the walks he can be good this year

@Wildcats_Braves @Sox_Savant Well that’s because outside of these 9 starts the last 2 years have been bad, I’ve liked Elder this year and think he’s been great but realistically unlike these pitchers Elder is going to be due for regression, his xERA is 2.90, if he’s doing this by AS break then can talk more

The talent he flashes can look great, but he doesn’t do it enough. You just pointed out about a total of 3.5 months of quality play out of his last 18. DRS isn’t indicative of being an elite defender, it just shows you have range. His arm and awareness are bad. He absolutely did not deserve that GG over Bobby Witt in 2023. He flashes power, but he’s not a power hitter. He consistently swings for the fences. When he’s going best, he’s keeping his hips square and hitting line drives the other way. 20 homers on a sub .700 OPS isn’t worth it. He also doesn’t make nothing anymore. He’s making $3.5 million this year. And with how arb works, he’ll get a raise next year. He hasn’t shown he can be a MLB player in 3 years now. If he can’t show anything this year, since the Yankees operate on a budget, I’d argue he should be DFA’d. I don’t think he should be DFA’d today, I’m fine with giving him this year as a last opportunity to earn it. Caballero has earned the starters role for now, though. When he comes back, the job should be his. If Volpe performs, I’m okay giving him time there, but Cabby has earned the job for the foreseeable future.

Anthony Volpe. 23, 24, 25. He’s essentially awful at every level of the game. Why are we holding onto this dude?? Do we really need to see a 4th year of this?

@TheMGibson @MVPGiancarlo_ Bobby Witt had -5 DRS compared to Volpe who was 2nd in the MLB with 15, not to mention he also had 7 DRS the next year with 15 OAA… he also has a stronger arm than Caballero analytics wise, Guess we’ll have to see if Cabby can keep it up past a month he only avg’d 2 ABs/gm 2025

@TheMGibson @MVPGiancarlo_ Thing is, when Volpe is hot, he looks very good, but when he’s slumping he looks like and is the worst hitter in baseball, need the lows to be a little less extreme and he’s going to be completely fine, just when he struggles, he STRUGGLES

He hit 12 homers in 2024 with a .657 OPS. He was hitting under .240 before his injury in 2025. He’s shown nothing that merits him the starting shortstop job. I’m fine with him earning it, if he can. He has tools, I definitely believe he’s talented. I just haven’t seen him demonstrate the ability to utilize those tools in any way for a sustained period.

When has Volpe had a great consecutive month? This game isn’t played in a spreadsheet or a simulator. Volpe hitting 20 home runs on a .666 season OPS isn’t meaningfully helping the team. That’s being productive 20 times in 600 at bats - what did he do the other 580 times? Very little. Caballero has played 81 games as a Yankee now and has a .761 OPS. Find me an 81 game stretch in Volpe’s career that comes close to that. Find me a 40 game stretch. His defense can be good, but it’s not something other shortstops can’t do. He’s not elite. Caballero has played excellent defense this season. Volpe’s supposed to be a base stealer - his career high is 28. Caballero already has 13 this year, and has shown to be among the best in the league. Is Cabby going to sign a $100m+ contract to be a long term SS in the future? Probably not. Is he better than Volpe? In every way (except power, sure, but that shouldn’t be either players game).

@TheMGibson @MVPGiancarlo_ I mean Volpe had a 52 game stretch in 2024 after sitting with Austin Wells and having a swing change where he had a .792 OPS and raised his wRC+ during that span from 66 to 119, .765 OPS April last year and like .720 after May, year prior was at a .750 OPS after May…

@TheMGibson @MVPGiancarlo_ To pretend like Volpe hasn’t had the defense especially his first two years would be a joke and he’s a ~20/20 potential guy and has basically been close all 3 seasons, he played injured last year when we realistically had pretty much nobody else
