I’m getting major déjà vu of the same people calling crypto dead/pointless/useless as they did in 2022…the same people who said it was stupid to buy in 2023…the same people who said memecoins would never take off in 2024…the same people who ended up fomoing every single local top in 2024 and 2025 before giving up yet again.
The reality is, things never just die, and price action is often confused with utility or use cases. Do we need an infinite amount of L2s, L1s, alt coins etc? No. Do we need millions of memecoins that can be created in a split second? No. But does it mean prices are never going higher again? Also no. You could have said the same thing in 2022 and you would have forgone monstrous gains.
I still remember people publicly calling me “retarded” for buying dips in those years, for accumulating large amounts of memecoins in late 2023…but these moves ended up being life changing for me and there is zero chance I could have perfectly waited for “confirmation” before trying to time this stuff perfectly, particularly given the liquidity.
People complain about whales accumulating large positions, but the best time to build your large positions are times like these when you can acquire loose supply without meaningfully pushing things higher.
And then when things bounce aggressively, you’re not sitting there deciding whether you should buy something that’s up 5x off the lows; your only dilemma is when to start selling.
I’m not sitting here telling you crypto all crypto tech is the dog’s bollocks and it’s going to completely revolutionise the way people live (I made that mistake from the NFT bubble), but I am telling you that momentum will shift, and it’s actually a lot better to DCA as prices go lower than panic buy as prices go higher.
It’s funny because many people on here are chasing life-changing gains but fail to realise that your best shot of that is actually accumulating as much as you can at depressed prices, rather than just hunting for a 100x in a bull market where it is becoming increasingly more casino like.
The strongest combination to accumulating vast amounts of wealth is growing a pair of bollocks and having a lot of patience.
