If I were on the Kaggle team that made this decision, I’d be embarrassed. While I appreciate that they seem open to make changes in the future, the current design reeks of a lack of understanding about probability and game theory to a baffling extent

The @kaggle March Madness Machine Learning 2024 competition made a terrible decision to change their evaluation metric to reward gambling, risk taking, and essentially change the competition to be a traditional ESPN bracket challenge. kaggle.com/competitions/m…
