A 31yrs old guy in Agege was arrested last night for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl.... Around 10:30 PM, the girl’s mother realized her daughter wasn't inside her room and went searching for her but nowhere to be found in the vicinity. When the girl eventually returned home, her mother pressed her until she admitted she had been with the guy . The mother immediately confronted the man and warned him to stay away from her daughter. Rather than showing any remorse, the man boldly went to the mother’s house to threaten her and tell her not to speak to him in that manner — which only incriminated him further. While they were arguing, I intervened, asked what the issue was, and the mother explained the situation. When I asked the girl who the man was to her, she replied sadly, “He is my boyfriend.”I ensured the man was arrested, but I’m now conflicted. The girl’s mother is hesitant to take the case to court because she cannot afford the financial costs involved. However, I am ready and willing to support her financially through the process. This is a serious matter involving the abuse of a minor. What steps do you think we should take next?

Let me help you understand what you typed in layman’s terms: So, if your father raped an 8 year old girl for five years in a row, through the anus and vagina…. and she eventually died due to diseases contracted from your father, and even developed VVF, and you are fully aware of it… you will still stand by your father because he paid your school fees, put a roof over your head, fed you, and did all the good things for you? Even though he raped a minor until she died? YOU WILL STAND WITH YOUR FATHER?
Duke of Africa@Allezamani

So Twitter people are saying if my father, that takes care of me, pays my fees, pays for everything that I need, I even live under his roof, commits a crime, I should publicly chastise him and testify against him in court because he committed a crime that doesn’t even affect me directly? Why do people like to live in hypocrisy on social media?

Drag Winifred if you want to for a crime his brother and father committed. But you and I know that your brother is a Yahoo boy and he has been buying you things and you have not reported him to the EFCC. Your sister is a prostitute, you have not disowned her or brought it to the public. Your father is cheating on your mother, and you have not made a tweet to ostracise him. Your mother is cheating on your father and you will die with that secret. You and I know that you will not testify in court against your siblings because of the personal bond and biases we all bear. But be holier than thou and castigate Winifred for being just as biased as you and protecting her family. But I will be the evil person since you are the good guy. I Drey will never testify against my brother in court even if he were to murder a person. I am that biased, and so are you! 🤝

As the solicitor to the family of the late Ochanya, I have been hesitant and very cautious about making public statements regarding this tragic case. However, people have been tagging and reaching out to me for clarifications. @Winifunds has very serious questions to answer regarding what she knows about the circumstances of the death of Miss Ochanya. I have attached certified excerpts from the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Makurdi, delivered on 28th April, 2022 in the charge filed by NAPTIP against Mrs. Felicia Ogbuja (Winifred’s mother). Mrs Felicia was convicted and sentenced to five months imprisonment for failing to protect the late Ochanya who was under her care. If you read page 14 of the judgement, you will see that Winifred’s name came up in the course of the proceedings. A witness testified under oath that Winifred caught her brother (Victor Ogbuja), who is still on the run, and reported to their father, Mr. Andrew Ogbuja. Based on what I know, Winifred refused or failed to cooperate with the investigators. She failed to make a statement regarding her role in the case. Efforts by investigators to get to her proved abortive. If she had cooperated, it would have likely had a profound impact on the quest for justice for Ochanya. That is all that I can say at this time.

You have no right to tell anybody who to attack on this app. Because she's a friend of yours won't stop others from calling her out as an accomplice to rape. All the people you have dragged on this app were also other people's friends. Winifred case won't be different. If i witnessed my friend commit murder and didn't report but rather helped him cover his tracks until he was caught, won't i be arrested as an accomplice? She watched the poor girl getting raped and taken turns by her brother and father for years until she died. And she did nothing because she wanted to protect her family. At the end of the day, she's as much as guilty as her rapists family. Nobody made you the head prefect of this app. So you won't tell us what to do. Don't be a hypocrite!

Even this one that is always in ladies’ DMs telling them he’s sexually attracted to them, and even sending some of them 50k just to come see him, the day your cup is full, I’ll tag all the ladies who have brought your matter to me. I waited for David Bent, and it was on this same app he got exposed. I’ll wait for yours too, Wizarab, no worry 🫵

It was 2015, just after graduation. I had just returned to Abuja after surviving UNIBEN. I had a neighbour who worked at NRS (formerly FIRS). He had always been kind to me, and we used to talk about life whenever I came home during holidays. So when I finished school, I felt it was the right time to approach him about job opportunities. Around that same time, a friend of mine came back with me from school. He didn’t want to return to Kaduna immediately, so he asked if he could stay with me for a week. He also wanted to use the opportunity to see his girlfriend in Abuja. I spoke to my parents, and they agreed. When I spoke to my neighbour, he asked me to prepare my CV and bring a hard copy, as they were looking to hire. I mentioned my friend to him, and he said he could also submit his CV. We both prepared our CVs and planned to visit him together so I could introduce my friend properly. One Tuesday night, we went to his house, but he wasn’t around. I called him, but he didn’t pick. Later, he sent a message saying he had travelled and would be back on Thursday. Unfortunately, I had to travel to Delta State on Thursday for personal reasons, while my friend was scheduled to return to Kaduna on Friday. So I gave my CV to my friend and asked him to submit both his and mine to my neighbour when he returned. I had already informed my neighbour that my friend would come on my behalf, and he agreed. I travelled. When I got to Delta, I called my friend again to remind him. I had also confirmed that my neighbour was back in Abuja. That evening, around 9pm, my friend went to submit the CVs and told me he had done so. The next day, he travelled back to Kaduna. Everything seemed fine. Until I returned to Abuja. My neighbour called me and asked: “Why did you change your mind about working with the government?” I was confused. I said "as how naw?" He then told me that the CVs submitted were for my friend and his girlfriend. Mine was not included. According to him, my friend said I wanted to go to law school first and maybe do some private practice before considering working with his agency. My neighbour even showed me the CVs. Mine was not there. I called my friend. His response? “You know your parents are still alive… mine are not. Plus na only me my babe get. I just feel say job no go hard you get na why… abeg no vex.” That was it. Harrison… I hope this post goes viral and that you somehow come across it wherever you may be at the moment. So you can see yourself clearly for the evil that you are.

I figured out that the reason why when you help many Nigerians, they add more energy to begging you constantly is ‘cos they don’t see your prior assistance as a single good deed, but as a confirmation that you’re indeed their helper. A manifestation of their spiritual belief.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a woman wanting what her parents never had. Everyone aims to live a better life. Should a girl, because she came from a poor background, now aim to settle with a poor man? The importance of the economic part of marriage can never be overstated. I always say that two poor people should not be getting married. A woman who is pretty, educated, has a job or business, and a decent character can aim to marry a man who is rich, and she is not aiming for too much. I know a few women whose lives were transformed because of the men they married. They are living their best lives, have beautiful children, and most importantly, are happily married. Meanwhile, those who settled for less are struggling with their husbands. There is no fun in poverty. I cannot fault anyone who does anything legal to break free from it. We should stop victimizing women who look to marry wealthy men. If the men themselves deem her worthy to marry, that is great. Women who love to build with a man should build. The ones who love managing should continue doing so. Those who are attracted to broke men, good for them. The ones who can only marry wealthy men, perfect. Everyone should do what works for them.
