🚨POST COMBINE DRAFT BOARD🚨 Latest version of my big board. As usual, it gets looser the deeper you go, so don’t focus too much on the numbers. Hope I didn’t miss anyone—I’ve lost track of all the returners and transfers. What do you think? 👀

@TommyGunnNBA I feel like a weirdo for having AJ third on my board, but I think the top three are really really close. Only opinion I can’t abide is Wilson over Boozer/Peterson

@cfuerte13 @AndyKHLiu my #1 ideal outcome for the draft is that OKC likes Yaxel enough that the Warriors can hold him hostage and trade back for 12+17. There are a lot of cool players in that range and getting two would be huge.

@DunxMuro @AndyKHLiu Still opens up possibility that a team, say OKC at 12, who’s in contention… consolidates assets to move up. Their draft stash is at a point of diminishing returns. The team trading back eyeing a long term project would probably be safe being behind the warriors.

@cfuerte13 @AndyKHLiu maybe, but Yaxel is best for teams on a short timeline, and the teams ahead of the Warriors that are also on a short timeline (Hawks, maybe Mavs, Bucks if they’re dumb) already have franchise PFs

@AndyKHLiu People are assuming that Yaxel will be there at 11 because that’s the consensus area of where he’s ranked. But with so many guards 5-11, it’s hard to imagine a run of guards without someone reaching for a wing… for the exact reasons GSW wants him.

@TommyGunnNBA @will_nba_hater Philon: 22/4/5 on 50/40/80 splits (63.4 TS%, 66% at rim, 45% from mid-range against #1 SOS Okorie: 23/4/4 on 46/35/83 splits (58.9 TS%), 56% at rim, 42% from mid-range, against #76 SOS. Not surprised the Warriors fan likes the Stanford player more.

Here is my tier list for the Warriors pick at 11 assuming we stay there. Aday Mara pick would be A+ but at this point it’s unlikely he falls that far. Koa Peat may be going back to college.

@bontahillstan I'm praying that OKC likes Yax enough that the Warriors can hold him hostage for 12 and 17 and walk away with Labaron and, like, Morez or Steinbach or Swain

I am selling the Cameron Carr stock everyone is buying. I think he’ll be pretty highly regarded in the NBA though, a wing sized guy who scores always is. I just don’t think he’ll be that impactful because he doesn’t really DO wing stuff.

The Warriors Invitational 🏆
Yaxel is a very "safe" pick but they need playable bodies yesterday and he fits that billing.
cityslckr123@t_veerina28

@BlqMgck I think hes the guy we need. Positional size, 3 level scorer, shot creator to take pressure off Steph - Lendeborg brings size and athleticism but hes sort of a mid way upgrade of Draymond/JK hybrid who can shoot the 3 at a good clip but its not gonna force teams off Steph

@Addiction_GSW @samesfandiari @AndyKHLiu I think the Clippers or Nets might be trade-down teams, so if they really like one of the second-tier guards (acuff, wagler, flemings, brown) they could maybe get as high as 5 or 6. If they want wings they probably stay at 11, picks 5-10 will probably all be guards

@samesfandiari @AndyKHLiu Probably a wild hopium from me, but out of 100 what are the odds Mike & Joe wanna trade up higher than 11th? If so, which player do you think they'd do that for? Otherwise, I hope we use these picks in a trade and I don't even care to get a star. Just get Steph 2-3 3&D wings= #5!

I’ve officially adopted a “drop the lowest grade” policy. I no longer factor any star’s worst playoff series into their historical resume. LeBron’s 2011 Finals, Kobe’s 04 Finals, Steph blowing the 3-1 lead, MJ losing to Orlando, this Jokic series, all forgiven.
Josh Eberley 🇨🇦@JoshEberley

Again, yes, embarrassing series for Jokic. But I have watched Kobe, Curry, Durant and McGrady all blow 3-1 leads. I saw Shaq get swept. Saw 2011. We don’t have to do this extremely nauseating fake revision to his overall greatness because of how this one series went.

@GautamRatnamNBA He was something like the 5th best player on the board at that point, which is not great (Sengun, Trey, Jalen Johnson, Herb were all available), but at the same time I can’t call him a miss at all. Better than average 14th pick in most years, a bunch of guys below him just popped

Depends on what your idea of miss is. I think Moody has under delivered on the lotto status, but he’s a solid player for us It’s a miss bc not only did none of those picks turn into your next franchise guy, they were not good enough to even be 2nd fiddle next to an aging Steph

@samesfandiari They're not a fading dynasty -- in any sense of the word, they haven't been a dynasty since, generously, going out in the play-in in 2024. Dynasty's been over, it's okay to acknowledge that!

There should be more internal frustration to their ability to acquire talent than Steve on the podium. You don't want to know what your reputation will be externally without Kerr or Steph propping you up.
NBA Base@TheNBABase

Steve Kerr’s blunt assessment of the Golden State Warriors as a "fading dynasty" has reportedly created "internal frustration" within the organization, per @NickFriedell "At times, the weight of expectations has shown. His blunt assessment of the Warriors as a 'fading dynasty' drew fan backlash and, at times, his honest public assessments created internal frustration, league sources said."

@souljagoyteller @CCBaxter1968 In his letters, Tolkien was asked a few times about the dwarves having parallels with Jewish stereotypes, and both times he responded “good ear, their language is definitely Semitic!” without addressing anything further Dude really just wanted to talk about languages!

It’s funny how Britain’s two most influential fantasy literary franchises both have 2 races clearly designated as “Jewish” or at least stereotypically Jewish (The Dwarves in LOTR and Goblins in Harry Potter)

@fsholars @DrewSav maybe, but GRRM spent so much time setting up the major character deaths. AGOT as a book is almost entirely about Ned setting up his own death, ACOK and ASOS are both doing incredible legwork to set up the Red Wedding. Once the books ran out the deaths are sudden and tangential

For me one of Game of Thrones' big problems is the desire to constantly cull its ensemble cast. When the showrunners felt comfortable deviating from Martin's work it was usually to kill off characters. There's a lot of silly deaths like Stannis, Barristan, Randyll Tarly, etc.

Some victory laps slipped through the cracks onto my TL, so I went and checked to see what’s been going on and bro has been dropping pretty efficient 12s & 10s. Is that what the laps are for or am I missing something?
