@mattpocockuk Inspired from /grill-with-docs I built a /teach-me skill that helps you find your unknown unknowns by grilling you against the consensus research on a particular topic or question. I tried it with CS, emotional intelligence, maths,.. it's like a super power

/grill-me is my most popular skill ever. I get 5-10 messages a day about how it’s changed people’s workflows for the better But… I’ve stopped using it for code. Here’s the improved version:

@hazlijohar @mattpocockuk I was thinking of the same thing, it is indeed mentally exhausting, but it's a good thing imo. It made me step outside of my comfort zone and help me think more clearly about what I already know. I helped me found my knowledge gaps

use /grill-me every day, but i think it would help a lot if the agent responded in more plain english and with a more supportive tone. after 20–30 questions, it gets mentally exhausting to keep up the pace. i’ve tested it myself, and it genuinely helps people think more clearly and stay engaged longer

@aaronmsaunders @mattpocockuk These are well known terms with dedicated wikipedia pages... btw you can try to learn it from AI itself, I'm experimenting with /teach-me skill which similar to /grill-me skill, it grills you through questions and helps you find your knowledge gaps x.com/DuskyDaily/sta…

@mattpocockuk I get a lot out of your work, teaching and skills. AI is democratising software. I am a scientist now a dev with the help of AI. Please spell out the terms: eg. ADR, RFC, PRD, more clearly & often for us coming from other fields. 🙏

@mattpocockuk /to-issues for me have been loosing information from the original PRD, maybe my PRDs are small enough that it works better when I ask it to work off of the PRD itself. I use sota open-weight models from Opencodr Go subscription. Really love the "grill-with-docs" skill

2 months ago: "what if I build an OS?" Today, MagicalOS can run doom as a user-space process. countless bugs. all-nighters. way too much debugging. worth it. I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!

In my last post I showed that i could reach Ring 3 But a userspace process without a bridge to the kernel isn't a process - it's a prisoner. Time to break out of that prison INTRODUCING: SYSTEM CALLS! 🛰️ I just finished implementing a demand-paged user process with syscalls!

So far I've been using busy-wait spin locks in my kernel. But they waste CPU cycles busy-waiting. But you know what's better than a dumb spin lock? A smart blocking mutex! I just finished implementing scheduler aware mutex which can deschedule a task instead of busy-waiting!

My last post was about the async runtime i made in my OS. And I just finished implementing OS threads! But... why choose between OS threads and async when you can just... have both? I have true multitasking now... it's finally starting to feel like a real Operating System!

I implemented an async runtime in my Rust kernel a few days ago. But you know what's cooler than an async runtime? An async runtime with non-blocking sleep! seeing tasks interleave using HPET and LAPIC timer on baremetal is a whole different feeling

MagicalOS progress update!!! I forgot to post and I've made a lot of progress Implemented LAPIC and timer interrupts, now the kernel has a heartbeat! I can make a little task scheduler and implement OS threads!
