Interesting I just read Mosiah 29 then saw this on X. 22 For behold, he has his friends in iniquity, and he keepeth his guards about him; and he teareth up the laws of those who have reigned in righteousness before him; and he trampleth under his feet the commandments of God; 23 And he enacteth laws, and sendeth them forth among his people, yea, laws after the manner of his own wickedness; and whosoever doth not obey his laws he causeth to be destroyed; and whosoever doth rebel against him he will send his armies against them to war, and if he can he will destroy them; and thus an unrighteous king doth pervert the ways of all righteousness.

Utah is serious about building, and that means making permitting more transparent, accountable, and predictable. Today, we signed an agreement with the White House Permitting Council to better align state and federal permitting timelines for critical infrastructure and energy projects. This will help reduce unnecessary delays, strengthen domestic supply chains, support more reliable and affordable energy for Utahns, and ensure we can continue to responsibly steward the land, air, and water that make Utah special. Thank you to Executive Director @ehdomenech and the White House @PermitCouncil for partnering with Utah as we work to build the infrastructure and resources America needs.

Well, since you can't defend your claims from God's word, I'll leave you this warning. "For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths." Your so-called restoration will lead you and your loved ones to ruin unless you repent.

To the anti-mormons: There is beauty to a man and woman being sealed for eternity. There is beauty when a depressed law school student, driving down the I-5 on a dark night, sees the San Diego Temple lit up as a beacon of hope. There is beauty to the reverence of a young boy at prayer, with his thees and thous. If your heart has hardened so much that when you hear these words your first impulse is anger, your soul is in serious jeopardy of being lost. A man who cannot recognize beauty when it is staring him in the face is already in the abyss of darkness.

Relying on the genetic logical fallacy will not help you. And if you are having to resort to logical fallacies to defend your idea of God, then you have the wrong idea of God. You can copy and paste all the Mormon apologetics you want. I have addressed those. You say you rely on infinite intelligence, yet you can't even define what that is or how it exists and is ontologically grounded. Your infinite intelligence has less evidence than Santa. At least Santa was based on a real person, grounded in reality. Now, let's address this dumb AI claim as if it proves your point. My interpretation of Col 1:16-17 is found in the earliest church fathers. Irenaeus of Lyons (c. 130–202 AD): In his landmark work Against Heresies, Irenaeus fought Gnostic dualism by linking Colossians 1:16 directly with John 1:3. He argued that because Paul declares "all things" (visible and invisible) were made by Christ, there is no room for an independent material realm. Irenaeus asserted that God did not require materials from anyone else, but rather brought matter itself into existence out of nothing. Is your view in the early church? No, it is not. In fact, your view, “ex materia,” is held by pagan philosophers and gnostics. It's funny you reject the Christian Creeds over claims of man-made philosophy, but try your darndest to adopt the worldview of the philosophers. And you can claim Kitzo had an architectural meaning historically, but Paul's use of Pro Panton changes that. The preposition pro denotes absolute spatial and temporal priority. Paul does not say Christ was before most things, or before humanity. He states Christ existed before the sum total of all reality (panta). If any "pre-existing matter," cosmic dust, or chaotic substrate existed for Christ to build with, it would belong to the category of "things." Because Christ is explicitly placed before the existence of anything else, there was no independent material alongside Him. Therefore, nothing existed but Christ Himself before creation. You can quote 2 Nephi 29 all you want, but in doing so, you are ignoring the argument and proving my point. The debate is whether Mormonism is true and a continuation of Christianity, so it's not a given that Passages from the Book of Mormon are authoritative and the word of God. That's the very thing we are debating. And you being unable to show how the Bible supports your viewpoint without holding the BoM as an authority over the Bible proves your position is false. The OT and NT are consistent and don't contradict each other, yet your BoM contradicts them both. This is especially ironic, coming from you since you asked me just to stick to the text a few comments back. So again, going back to the text, Paul says Christ created all things. You claim Christ didn't create intelligences. The only way you don't contradict the bible here is to show how intelligence is not a thing. Can you do that? Because truth by definition is exclusive and non-contradictory, so if your solution is a contradiction, your solution is false. You also need to show why matter is not a thing. And since matter is physical, I think you are going to have a hard time with that one.

Notice how conspicuously every NBA announce crew avoids calling out obvious flops. On this clip, Reggie Miller ignores the absurd theatrics that tricked the ref, and instead focused on a tangential sequencing theory that I still don’t understand.

“When a referee whistles a player for flopping, the offender is charged with a non-unsportsmanlike technical foul. The opposing team is then awarded one free throw.” This is in the NBA rulebook. WHY is it NEVER enforced?!

Backyard neighbor has chickens. Those chickens regularly get into our yard and scratch up my flower bed. Neighbor put up cinder blocks to close the gap under the fence. Cinder blocks fall and chickens still get in. I text him every time it happens. He says he's going to take care of it. They still get out. When am I legally allowed to keep the chickens and cook them for dinner? Asking for a friend...

I'm nearing 50 and things that used to work to help me lose weight, don't seem to work as well anymore. I started on reta in February. There have been annoying side effects like body-ache type of symptoms, but the side effects are better than not losing weigh. My belly doesn't get in the way of tying my shoes anymore. 😂

Today, I signed an executive order declaring a statewide drought emergency. This activates Utah’s emergency response plan and helps state agencies coordinate drought response across the state. All 29 counties are in severe drought, 22 counties are in extreme drought, and water supply forecasts are well below normal. The good news is that Utah has spent years preparing for dry years by investing in reservoirs, conservation, and planning. Statewide reservoir storage is currently at 70% of capacity, but what we see in our reservoirs today is what we have. I’m grateful to Utahns who have already cut back, to cities and water districts leading by example, and to our farmers and ranchers who are often the first to have their water supply reduced. Through the Agricultural Water Optimization Program, producers have invested more than $50 million of their own funds to improve water use and help protect Utah’s water resources and food supply. We have enough water to get through this year if we treat every gallon like the finite resource it is. Please follow Utah’s weekly lawn watering guide, reduce outdoor water use, fix irrigation leaks, and avoid watering pavement.
