🚨 13 newly trained Competition Ice Technicians 🚨 Ice Technicians gathered in Cochrane, Alberta for Curling Canada’s three-day pilot Competition Ice Technician Training Course! 🥌 Led by our Ice Technician Training Program team, Greg Ewasko, Mike Merklinger and Dustin Mikush, participants learned more about: • Advanced pebbling, scraping & clipping techniques • Best practices for preparing ice for training environments, adult tour events, youth, wheelchair & mixed doubles • Professionalism and customer service • Stone maintenance • and more! Curling Canada will be hosting a Competition Ice Technician course in Cochrane, Alberta on November 10-12, 2025. This new 3-day pilot course is for Certified Head Curling Ice Technicians who want to learn more about creating competition conditions for Club Championship Events being held in their curling centre and province/territory. Ice Technicians who meet the pre-requisites have until September 12 at 9 a.m. ET to submit applications to Curling Canada.
