@H1BeesNuts Which is insane since we were taught to not give away our identity and how to stay safe online. Do they still teach that?

Their plan is to push online ID verification as far as SCOTUS will allow, have a generation grow up where "uploading iD online is normal sometimes," and try again when ID verification is normalized. They are de-normalizing online anonymity.

@BipartisanBill @hcksqtjimduggan I would only agree with this if it meant cops would get ticketed too. I have yet to see a cop drive the speed limit after all my years of driving. Almost everyone goes at lest 5 above unless something is wrong with their car.

@hcksqtjimduggan It's important to note that going even 1 mph over the speed limit is technically illegal. If the pacing was performed properly, generally the courts side with the officer.

It was an honor to testify in front of the @HouseCommerce subcommittee on health regarding healthcare affordability. We discussed consolidation and the demise of independent physician practice. My solutions include: Repeal section 6001 of the ACA which banned physician owned hospitals Reform Stark law Implement site neutral payments Reform 340B Use FMAP to encourage states to be pro-competition (repeal CON, eliminate non competes)

@Cyr0Lov3 @Bruh13565305 @cod_de_la_cod Is this your first time on the internet? It is everyone’s choice what they want to do with it once it is online. Good luck trying to sue someone in another country over it.

@intheaftnoon @Agediho__ @ogblynz @kekmoe1069 @_mangrub @nem1AA The author doesn’t determine who can and cannot view their work. It isn’t possible with the internet existing. Copyright law isn’t cared about here by the public in general. That is why “You wouldn’t download a car” is a meme. Yes, I would download a car as it is just a copy.

one of the funniest thing about the Japanese stance on piracy is that, they will seriously say: if it isn't legally available in your area, it might as well not exist at all; and Don't even try obtaining it

@james_jimm91399 @Raintheplug1 That bothers me too. No trial and so no guilty verdict happened and assumption of guilt was made based on the word of 1 child and no further investigation. Feel bad for him if he ended up not doing anything. If he did, well hopefully he didn’t harm any other kids.

An 18-year-old woman, Alishon Torres, is accused of shooting a man 14 times, k*lling him, and leaving his body in the street after a 5-year-old child reported that the man had touched her inappropriately. 👀😳🤔

@YourPalAnus The only issue I have with this is there was no verdict that the man did this. It was based on the word of 1 child and the woman assumed immediately the child was being honest. I am not saying it automatically didn’t happen. Just that a trial should happen before execution.

@cyber_razz Just realized that it would be actually impossible for them to do this with Arch Linux (no I don’t use it) since you install what you need and do the bulk of the installation yourself.

A law saying Linux must do age verification at account setup misunderstands what Linux is. Linux doesn’t have “account signups.” It creates local system users, not online identities. No email, no central service, no universal setup flow where age could even be checked. Most Linux systems don’t even have a human at the keyboard. Linux runs servers, routers, cloud VMs, containers, IoT devices, and embedded systems. Many installs are headless, automated, and finished in seconds. Who is supposed to verify their age — the server? Linux also isn’t a single product. It’s open-source code. Anyone can remove an age check, fork the installer, compile from source, or deploy via scripts like PXE or cloud-init. There is no enforcement point by design. It works offline by default. Air-gapped networks, hospitals, military systems, and critical infrastructure depend on Linux functioning without internet or external identity services. Age verification assumes connectivity and centralized trust — Linux explicitly does not. Even if you forced verification once, it’s meaningless. Images get cloned, VMs get spun up, containers get copied endlessly. Verification doesn’t scale — copying does. Forcing age checks into Linux would also weaken security, adding new code paths, dependencies, and identity data to systems that prioritize minimalism and control. You can regulate platforms. You can’t regulate open-source infrastructure like Linux at install time. That’s simply how Linux is built.

@Kirie_Zero @cyber_razz Yeah, that is called dual booting. It does require you to go into your bios. You would install the Linux OS you choose through a flash drive. Recommend Linux Mint or Ubuntu for beginners, but ultimately up to you. There are countless guides on how to dual boot.

No, stop trying to re-write history. She was scared of her daughter, terrified even, because she was just too much like her father, and so she jumped boat out of fear and selfishness. She was a shitty parent, but she was also human, a person in a very abusive environment, and it's understandable because humans make mistakes and grow from it. Changing that reduces character.
