@SouthwestAir you just lost me for future travel. Conference ends early, request standby, Gate agent says $200. Whomever the VC bean counters are, you just lost a customer of 40 years. @Delta @united you’ll get my business

@klseaboldt Lose 2 in NYC they’re in trouble, sweep and they’re DOA, Past 25 years except 14-15 it’s more about promo & mktg than product on field & dudes without winning mentality. It’s hard to watch & hard as fan 2 spent money on them. At least the Chiefs w Andy 15 87 95 lead and compete,

This was about to be a potentially season-altering win. Down, 6-1, with NO offense at all, they battled back to take the lead. Salvy homered. Vinnie homered. The plane ride to New York would have been lively. Now, it's an unmitigated disaster. If there was a team that did NOT need this ending, it was the Royals.

@goldbergkc Except the bullpen is a mess. I can’t imagine trying to cover this team and looking for positives. Keep your head up, hope they win one in NYC or the season could be on life support when you get back to KC.

Salvy homer puts the Royal up. They trailed 6-1 entering the 7th. Jonathan India ended an 0-16 w/a leadoff double. Maikel Garcia ended a 0-15 w/an RBI single. Salvy ended 0-21 RISP w/a homer. The floodgates have opened on the offense and the skies as the rain and tarp followed

Official statement from Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark: “After consultation with the coaches of our four Semifinal teams, I have decided that in order to provide our student-athletes with the greatest level of comfort on a huge stage this weekend, we will transition to a hardwood court for the remainder of the Tournament. We look forward to a great Semifinals and Championship Game.”

One word in a contract could decide an $18.7M battle. In this KC Star interview, I highlighted how the word “reasonable” may shape the legal fight over K-State Coach Jerome Tang’s firing. Next week on my podcast Shifting the Power Balance, I will break things down in depth:

Update: Jerome Tang has retained Tom Mars and Bennett Speyer in the case of his firing for cause. Mars told ESPN: “If K-State’s President and AD really think the school was embarrassed by recent events, that’s nothing compared to the embarrassment that both of them are about to experience.”
Pete Thamel@PeteThamel

Per ESPN sources, Jerome Tang plans to fight Kansas State’s for cause firing. He’s owed $18.67 million, per his contact, so this not surprising. Tang told ESPN in a statement: “I am deeply disappointed with the university’s decision and strongly disagree with the characterization of my termination.... 1/3

@franfraschilla As a labor attorney & KSU fan, GT public comments about Tangs firing 4 cause 4 comments will cost KSU K+ damages. KSU FB loss to Utah see Kli comments - Kli went directly after fans/donors & GT said I got ur back. AD treats 1 coach diff than other is a T7 discrim case

Seth is correct. Jerome Tang will get every dime. Coaches, if you are in this situation, you must hire the best sports law attorneys in the country to settle this. Forget your brother-in-law, the real estate attorney. It will be worth every dime.
Seth Greenberg@SethOnHoops

The only thing Jerome Tang did wrong was is not win enough games. Trying to fire him with a cause is embarrassing. Honor the contract and move on. @KStateMBB @Big12Conference

@iamtimeverson The lawyer in me says KSU used this as negotiating strategy to lower the payout. My belief is while this is being publicly reported, the parties have agreed on a # & NDAs are in place so only a few people know the actual #

The Mercury has learned that Jerome Tang has been fired for cause following comments made after K-State's home loss to Cincinnati on Wednesday. The Wildcats are 1-11 in Big 12 play, which ties for the third-worst start to league play in school history. themercury.com/k_state_sports…

@KStateMBB out of respect to KSU, Tang should resign. In my 50+ years of being a KSU fan, I’ve never seen a team fail to compete. Not one to question Tang’s character, but this is a failure of coaching, org leadership, talent evaluation and NIL mismanagement. @kstatesports

@KStateMBB, I have been a Tang supporter, this team doesn’t box out, defend, rebound or shoot FT & gives 80+ per game, lack of effort & toughness. On verge of missing the tourney 3 consecutive years isn’t acceptable.

Congrats to all the teams who made the @CFBPlayoff. Many talented, deserved programs. Worth asking the question… Was the core mission & purpose of the committee to ensure the BEST teams are included upheld?
