I could write an entire series of essays on the false assumptions of this one paragraph alone. “The church I pastor tries to stay out of most partisan issues unless they involve issues of clear biblical morality. We want to be faithful to teach all that the Bible teaches, but we also know that if we get labeled “the Republican church” or “the Democrat church,” we’ll immediately lose access to 50 percent of our mission field. Our typical approach, therefore, is to teach what the Bible teaches as clearly as we can and let members connect the dots regarding which particular policies and candidates best support that biblical idea.“

The misogynistic, disrespectful, and duplicitous attacks against Kamala Harris, calls out something deep within me derived from discipling I received in my youth/teen age years. And that is—if a girl or woman is being unfairly, unreasonably, verbally or violently assaulted—it becomes the responsibility of the male to come to her rescue, even if the female is someone you’re not acquainted with. I even applied this discipling towards Sarah Palin when she ran as VP with John McCain. I supported her, and voted for her, in part because of attacks on her similar to the attacks on VP Kamala Harris. The attacks on Kamala Harris, are even more vicious, vile, indecent, and racist. There’s something deep within me that will not allow a woman White or Black to be treated in this manner and I not respond or seek to shield her from such attacks as best I can. Even at grave risk or danger to myself. The best way I know to shield & rescue Kamala Harris—from being denigrated, disrespected, & undergoing racist attacks unprecedented in my observations of political life, is to vote for Kamala Harris. I encourage all males—particularly AA males who wouldn’t want their daughters, sisters, grandmothers, mothers, wife, or Aunt to be treated this way—to make up your mind that you’re going to vote for Kamala Harris. Most males born in the 40s-80s, particularly raised in Christian households, were trained this way. Now is the time to act upon that training.

Since this morning, the State of Israel has been at war. Our first objective is to clear out the hostile forces that infiltrated our territory and restore the security and quiet to the communities that have been attacked. The second objective, at the same time, is to exact an immense price from the enemy, within the Gaza Strip as well. The third objective is to reinforce other fronts so that nobody should mistakenly join this war. We are at war. In war, one needs to be level-headed. I call on all citizens of Israel to unite in order to achieve our highest goal – victory in the war.

Admittedly, other SBC Presidents have done better. I have tried to prioritize interaction with the real people who were in the same room with me, and that has cost me some on the electronic comms and other distance comms.
