@DarekGalasinski Indeed they are metaphors. But fairly common descriptors used in tasting notes. Analogous to how instrumental music can express sadness even though it doesn't make you feel sad.

@DwightFurrow TY, I don’t know if I get your point, I simply wonder about some of the statements you make. Eg “Wines can be aggressive, sensual, playful, dignified, brooding, tense, or calm.” I accept it might be a metaphor, I still don’t understand such a statement.

A sharp polemic from @DwightFurrow. I wish I understood sentences like “There are many ways to appreciate wine but surely one way to appreciate the very best wines is for their beauty, emotional power, and insight”
