#alcoholawareness Mar 19, 2026 ~Canada's most harmful, carcinogenic drug! All politician's at every level in Canada, should know better, especially you @PierrePoilievre @CPC_HQ and MPs need to lose the booze, and sober up! Canada can not afford to elect alcoholic's! 🇨🇦

HUGE STUDY—340,000 people—demonstrates that moderate wine drinkers live longer than abstainers. Specifically: "Moderate drinkers who preferred beer, cider, or liquor showed an increased risk of death, but THOSE WHO DRANK A SIMILAR AMOUNT OF WINE showed a SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER RISK OF DEATH. "Zooming in, researchers found that MODERATE WINE DRINKERS had a 21 PERCENT LOWER RISK OF DYING FROM CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE in particular—even compared to those who never or rarely drank. In other words, drinking low to moderate amounts of wine appears to be better for your heart health than not drinking at all.": nautil.us/if-youre-going…...

@jamesswanwick @fscarfe Can you tell us what the absolute risk of cancer is from drinking a glass of wine with dinner is? I’m guessing you can’t because you are a charlatan concerned with propaganda instead of facts.

@fscarfe The “moderation is healthy” narrative keeps collapsing. A carcinogen doesn’t become safe because the pour is smaller.

@InstAlcStud Please stop pretending the folks at the Institute for Alcohol Studies knows anything about running a business. Stick to what you know: gaslighting folks about moderate consumption of alcohol.

BrewDog took public forestry grants, sold 'Lost Forest Lager' as a sustainability stunt, then quietly sold the estate when finances got tough. Real commitment doesn't get sold off. This is CSR as marketing🌲 #Greenwashing theguardian.com/business/2026/…

@jamesswanwick Oh my god. What a charlatan you are. Tell us what the absolute risk of cancer is at moderate consumption levels. You won’t will you. Because if you did, people would see the risk is minuscule!

@worldheartfed Then explain why study after study shows that moderate drinkers have better health outcomes than abstained. You are untrustworthy.

Alcohol offers NO health benefits or protective effects, even at low or moderate levels of consumption, including for heart health ❌ Increasing taxes on alcohol can save lives.

@ThomasPurtzer The vast and overwhelming number of youths who drink don’t black out and become alcoholics. Please explain how so many people who have wine with dinner or a cocktail on the porch fail to harm themselves.

Why do young people drink? A review of drinking motives - ScienceDirect. A question to ponder? I drank to drunkenness and a blackout at age 14 and it changed my life. I thought it would help me fit in; it didn’t. It guaranteed I’d be alcoholic! Don’t drink sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

@ThomasPurtzer How do you explain the fact that the vast majority of people who drink alcohol have no chronic problems let alone die as a result?

The most dangerous drug in the World is alcohol. 3.5 million people worldwide died from drinking booze last year. In the USA in 2018, 88,000 Americans died from drinking alcohol. For unknown reasons, in 2023 178,000 Americans died from alcohol; that is more than double (88,000x2=176,000) in only five years. I think more are dying because of the Alcohol Industry; they target our youth and heavy drinking folks. I view alcohol as “THE GATEWAY DRUG”. Alcohol damages the Limbic Brain leading to increased drinking, smoking, use of illegal drugs, gambling, and probably multiple behavioral addictions. Alcohol also causes mental illnesses that are permanent and incurable. We’ve got ourselves in one heck of a pickle. Prohibition convinced a lot of folks that booze was a benign entertainment drug that helped people to accomplish more, have more fun and be the “life of the party”! All these are pathological myths. However, the populace has been severely brainwashed by Big Alcohol ‘s Neuro-Marketing techniques using cell phones, the Internet, and Social Media. They can spread lies faster than they could ever be dispelled. Hopefully a certain percentage of people can be persuaded to avoid the deadly neurotoxin and Class 1 carcinogen called ALCOHOL. It is really Ethyl Alcohol, ETHANOL. It is good for fuel, as a sanitizer, and used as a solvent. I hope and pray that you can avoid drinking alcohol, choosing to live THE ALCOHOL FREE LIFESTYLE.

@ThomasPurtzer The solution is simple: moderation. The vast majority of those deaths did not occur to those who enjoyed alcohol in moderation.

Actually, the #threetiersystem foes none of these things. It restricts market access, does nothing concerning health, and it assures accountability to no one. However, it does protect wholesalers and retailers from competing on a level playing field.

@InstAlcStud @DHSCgovuk Every time @InstAlcStud chooses to cite relative impact of moderate drinking on health and not absolute impact of moderate drinking on health you cherry pick. And in the worst way. And you do it all the time. Your observations are not trustworthy.

Alcohol companies and trade bodies claimed “positive trends” meant marketing restrictions were unnecessary in @DHSCgovuk's 10 Year Health Plan. Cherry-picking data helped block evidence-based prevention, when alcohol deaths are at record levels. ias.org.uk/report/now-you…
