@PeterArmstong @jamesxjarvis @paleochristcon @TheOmniLiberal Ah yes, the old “everyone else is wrong, and only I am right” opinion about religion 😂 your “moral facts” have as much objectivity to them as any one of the 2,000~ religions that preceded Christianity, and the infinite number of religions that will come after it.

Debate what? On whether or not you can have moral preferences without believing in objective moral fact? Sure, give me the exact prompt, one debate of you going over the subject, and a couple of weeks to prepare and I'll gladly do it. As a side-note, I will be expecting the same level of epistemic justification for your perspective as you do for mine, and no amount of you squirming around screaming "internal critique! internal critique!" is going to change that.
Andrew Wilson@paleochristcon

I dont see you saying "Yes let's debate this" Lol. Hahahahahaha.

@dlew123456 @drokkee @WarMonitor3 To the best of my knowledge, aren't they already doing that? They're going after the one dude who his own squad mates said did this shit. They aren't going after all of the SAS or anything like that.

I wouldn't describe Rachel or Andrew Wilson as an authority on stable motherhood or relationships. She has 5 children to 3 different Fathers. One man abandoned her and his two kids over vague “personal issues.” The next Father was a criminal drug abuser who abandoned her and their one child fleeing legal trouble. Only Andrew Wilson gave her the trad family she now preaches. But he only committed to her after he was able to confirm the kids were his via DNA testing. What does that suggest about the dynamic? Rachel has shown self awareness and knows how her blended family looks, downplaying it as “youthful mistakes”. But mistakes these are not. This a well documented, multi year, behavioural pattern of maladaptive mate selection; serial monogamy with successively dysfunctional, low stability males, resulting in three different fathers for five children, two periods of single motherhood, and one tragic child fatality. And yet, she and Andrew think they are best placed to be critics of modern women and they are ab authority of what benevolent, stable family life should be like. Rachel and Andrew have built their entire brand shaming modern women for low partner standards, serial monogamy, single motherhood, and multiple baby daddies, the exact life she lived. Hypocrisy on full display. What kind of man is drawn to such a woman like Rachel Wilson to begin with? Well, Andrew is a bit of a bastard isn't he. Andrew Wilson’s core traits are abrasive high conflict dominance, arrogance paired with defensive aggression, and a rigid insistence on his unchallenged authority. You can see repeatedly by from his debate footage that he is irritable, rude, and bullying in style. Yes, he can be sharp and logical but he routinely shifts to personal attacks, insults, and verbal aggression when he perceives his authority or family is directly challenged. I don't think he can organically evoke genuine deference or voluntary submission from a desirable, respectable, agentic, and stable woman. Such a woman has independent, better mating options and would probably reject the unilateral “he is in charge of everything” authority because it clashes with her core traits. Rachel, shaped by a pattern of suboptimal mate selection and multiple children, has limited mating alternatives. So she explicitly conforms. She states on record that submission means “you submit to your husband in all things,” that Andrew holds charge of everything, and that she performs total domestic service because his dependability finally enabled the homemaking role her prior partners could not. He secures what he needs through a partner whose baggage makes compliance the rational exchange for security. They portray this trade off via a christian redemption narrative they co brand. Interesting.

The thing that sticks out to me about this whole thing is one of the first (if not THE first) girls to go public about this seemed fine to keep it under wraps, so long as *she* was his girlfriend. I wonder, if he had broken up with his irl girlfriend for her, would she have ever come forward as a victim? Would any of the other girls have come forward, if *they* were the ones he decided to date instead of his gf?

You know, I read through this Doc What Sykkuno did was terrible, and I don’t like him as a person. Never watched him before either. Lying to women about your relationship to sleep with them and cheating is just flat-out wrong. It just is. It’s deplorable behavior and I sincerely hope everyone heals from the situation—and that he actually learns and becomes a better person Icelyn, and other women, deserved and deserve significantly better than him That said, something here just doesn’t sit right with me. Talking to him and acting with sincere care, pretending to be his friend, when it seems to have clearly come with the intention to screenshot everything, stab his heart psychologically as deeply as possible, do maximum damage, and farm clout off it… is kinda f*cked too On top of that, loosely framing the whole thing in a p*dophilic light—when in Icelyn's own words things only got intense ~5 years later—just feels wrong... I don’t like the guy, and I truly believe people need closure after that level of betrayal. Talking about it honestly, and expressing that hurt and betrayal felt is healthy and healing. But one wrong doesn’t justify another… He’s a cheater, a liar, and a piece of sh*t The rationale here seems, or perhaps feels somewhat to be for closure, but it also feels like it's more than that as well. The document doesn't really add anything new to the situation—it’s all stuff every single person already knew, told from another perspective. It further solidifies what we already understood Talking about our pain and how we felt from those who have wronged us is healthy, but much of this situation has felt far more than that It feels like an intent to strike maximum damage into his heart. Make him feel the pain of trusting someone while he appears to be in a vulnerable state, make him think he can open up and reminisce, only to intentionally use that moment to stab a knife through his chest, twist it, and push it in deeper while staring him in the eyes. Maybe he deserves that, maybe not It’s like we're on the outside looking into a huge messy situation that we shouldn't have been a part of to begin with. We don't know the years these women experienced, what they've felt, or been misled to believe. What we do know is he wasn’t a great person, but honestly? A lot of stuff in this situation has just seemed so wrong as well. I get that emotions can get high and he's nasty for doing what he did. Those he hurt deserve closure, and they are completely justified to feel hurt. But so much about this whole situation seems like it was all for anything but doing the right thing… Clout, pushing criminal accusations, growing a tiered p*rnography consumer base, making boatloads of money on AdSense (Youtube), strictly trying to hurt him as much as humanly possible, while all throughout completely ignoring his girlfriend, though in this case Icelyn did say she reached out to her (we're unsure if she responded, or what this entailed at all) Sykkuno's girlfriend did say she wanted this all handled privately however, and consented to none of it. If this changed for Icelyn I have no idea People have been truly hurt. I am glad to know other women likely won't be hurt by him going forward But, people intentionally trying to loosely frame him as a pedophile or a criminal predator as clickbait to do as much damage as possible and garner as much growth, money and clout as possible just doesn’t seem right to me either I honestly just hope we learn to handle these sorts of situations better in the future. This is exhausting... He’s a piece of sh*t but oh my god🤦‍♂️

After reading both the private and public apologies, I do not feel reassured. That is part of why I am choosing to share my experience now. I also believe people can make more informed decisions when they have more context, not less. Sykkuno became my friend when I was 17 and he was 28. Nothing inappropriate happened at that time, but that history shaped the trust I had in him later. docs.google.com/document/d/11Z…

Bro they're not talking points, they're statistics lmao. If you really want to be a gambler for a living, go read and memorize as many books about blackjack strategy (when to hit, when to stay, never splitting on 10s or 5s etc) and try your luck at that. I shit you not, you would be at least 1 order of magnitude more willing to make a living wage doing it. You're still likely to go broke in the long term, but it'll take much longer and you'll have many many more good days before it happens than if you were day trading.

🚨do you understand what just happened to traders in America.. for 24 years, a rule said: want to day trade? keep $25,000 in your account. at all times. or we lock you out. millions of people with $5k, $10k, $15k accounts? banned from trading the same way rich people do. today is the SEC's final deadline. the $25,000 minimum is being scrapped. replaced with a simple rule: just don't blow your margin. that's it. the barrier wasn't protecting you.. it was protecting the people who already had the money.

I don't particularly care for any of the following points of an individual, if their first point the make is just observably false. It's not that I frame everything about the USSR as negative, so much as I give the credit for various people's incredible work to the people who actually did the work, and not the regime they worked under, the same way I treat every other country. I don't say that “the USA” built the SR-71, or U-2, I don't even say lockheed Martin did it. I say that Kelly Johnson and Ben Rich built it, alongside a team of highly skilled technicians and specialists. The same way I don't say the USSR built an oxygen-rich, closed loop, staged combustion rocket engine in the 60s-70s, (something we in the west thought was impossible in the fuckin *90s*) I say Valentin Glushko and Nikolai Kuznetsov, along with their highly skilled groups of technicians, managed to pull off engineering wizardry beyond my wildest imagination in their competition to power a cosmonaut to the moon.

That's the outcome of most wars, economic strife, and collapses of societal infrastructure. People with terrible intent will take advantage of anyone, even if they're a child that has only ever known poverty and scarcity because of its government, at the moment of the collapse of the very same government. It's also the foreseeable consequences of running a command economy that is corrupt from its highest echelons, to local leaders and workers fudging numbers or skipping tests to meet their mandated 10,000 tonnes of steel production, as an example.

@DylanShandley @kp556x45 @esjesjesj No... that's literally the outcome of the collapse of the USSR. Children were prostitution themselves put of desperation while life expectancy plummeted as what would become the regions oligarchs seized the country's public assets with the help of American capitalists.

I watched the video at least 3 times, cause I thought my iPad screen was messing up and skipping the ending 🫠🙃 I don’t care about his takes on multipolarity, or neoliberalism and it's spread or effect. The problem I have, is when a country being a useful third pole in world trade becomes the metric, suddenly a country like the USSR’s body count matters less than its geopolitical role as a balance to the USA and China. That’s revisionism, and is the thing I take issue with.

Child predators weren't the only people who benefitted from the collapse of the USSR, lmao. The oligarchs also flourished in the collapse by robbing the common people of resources, assets, and infrastructure that they were rightfully entitled to. My saying that the USSR and it's totalitarian regime collapsing is not one of the worst catastrophes of recent history, especially compared to actions that the USSR themselves committed, is not an endorsement of anything that came after.

Off the top of my head, within the last 100 years, I can think of like 5-10 things which all objectively had a greater impact on the individual country or world, either in lives and/or economically, and were far greater catastrophes. WW1, WW2, the “great leap forward”, Maos reign and his policies more broadly, the Stalin era, the partition of India, the Russian Civil War, the Khmer Rouge, the great depression, the list goes on.

12 million people are estimated to have been killed by economic 'shock therapy' in Russia alone. Russia suffered the worst peacetime economic collapse of a major industrialised nation in history. The Russian economy nearly halved. The fall in Russian output was much worse than that caused by the Nazi invasion in the 1940s. Russian male life expectancy fell by 6.5 years, to 57.6 - back to its mid-1950s level. The overall fall in life expectancy was on the scale of Vietnam during all-out war in the 1960s. The suicide and homicide rates doubled. Real incomes collapsed by 40%. At the time of the Soviet collapse, one in fifty Russians lived in poverty. By the end of 1998, that surged to nearly one in every five. Full employment gave way to mass unemployment. As healthcare funding collapsed by a third and poverty surged, disease such as diphtheria, tuberculosis and syphilis rampaged. Russia was taken over by oligarchs, gangsters implicated in serious crimes who stole the country's resources. Murderous conflicts in the former Soviet territory included Chechnya, where potentially hundreds of thousands were killed. Yeltsin's contempt for democracy was underlined by his bombing of the Russian legislature - and the undemocratic farce of the 1996 election. Putin came to power after the Russian secret services almost certainly staged apartment bombings which killed hundreds. The invasion of Ukraine has killed hundreds of thousands of people. Need I go on? Yes, the collapse of the Soviet Union was one of the great catastrophes of our age. An alternative would have kept the USSR together (Baltic states aside) on a democratic basis, without ruinous shock therapy. Notably, a Soviet-wide referendum in March 1991 overwhelmingly voted to keep the Union together (although it was boycotted by six of the fifteen republics - in the Baltic and three small republics).
