@billiefridayxl @bonniexplore @FreyaNorn @JamesEsses @BBCNews Biologically male trans people oppress women by taking away our right to single sex spaces and services. Once you're in there they no longer serve us. Lesbians can’t have public meet ups without the presence of male “lesbians“ because it’s discriminatory. Countless services/

@Fontybits1 @JournalistJill Listening to that, I miss @whjm so much I could cry. We can eyeroll and joke about what @BBCWomansHour has become, but really it is just a huge loss and a tragedy.

She started LGB Alliance in a way. It was the reaction of Ruth Hunt to Jenni Murray's comments that a man cannot become a woman that was the last straw . From that moment on something changed and @stonewalluk continued its dive into irrelevance while sentient homosexual adults set up our own organization. Thank you Jenni Murray for your courage in the midst of a swamp of cowards at @BBCNews @BBCWomansHour. The current @BBCWomansHour should all hang their heads in shame. What a disgrace you are to her memory

Terrible, tragic news. She was the best. Treated really badly by the BBC after she dared to speak out about you know what. She was absolutely disgusted with the powers that be. Maybe it will all come out now. Jenni was a true journalist, no one quite like her.

The idea that venues or their staff are free to discriminate because they can refuse service to anyone they want is floating around again. Replace GC belief with race or religion or gender reassignment and it’s clear what the law is. Some caselaw here:
Michael Foran@michaelpforan

A 🧵on some of the caselaw that will be relevant for determining whether Joanna Cherry was unlawfully discriminated against when The Stand cancelled her appearance.

I'm not sure many people realise how much damage lobbying groups like Stonewall have damaged public understanding of the intention or requirements of the Equality Act. Whereas it was intended to prevent discrimination against an individual by those in control, it is now being applied by those in control against an individual who won't comply with their beliefs. It's insane.

'Imposing a 21 month sentence, the judge said, ‘Obviously prison has been awful for you, I understand that. You were initially in a male prison, which would make it particularly difficult.’' This suggests to me he has been moved to a female prison (article in reply):

Remember this article from Jenni Murray in 2017. Totally reasonable, nothing extreme, just saying men can’t be women. Then there was all the protests, calls to cancel talks, The BBC warned her, restricted her on air, and by 2020 she left Woman’s Hour. But she never backed down, even as the pushback continued for years. This is how speaking honestly costs you in public life. But she was forever right. Rest in peace, brave and courageous Jenni Murray. thetimes.com/article/490f2f…

@theraggedwood @Saskiaaa_____ @vpopulimedia No they shortlisted and interviewed 6 of us. I was warned before interview that job was marked for 'priority' candidates. Priority is given to 'internal' candidates. International recruits who sign up via the NHS Recruitment Hub are classed as 'internal'.

@Saskiaaa_____ @vpopulimedia I had an NHS interview on the 22nd Dec. Over 300 applicants for 1 post. I was told I was the only British candidate and the only candidate 'in country'. The only inperson interview. I was a really, really strong candidate. I did not get the job.

Personally - and I say this as someone who was a service director at King’s myself - if you want to explore issues of “good taste”, perhaps you might want to listen to someone other than an artist who wears a dildo to a children’s cancer charity event and who admits there is a sexually coercive aspect to male cross-dressing. x.com/journalistjill… Good taste?
