@charlieo_conn One reason Martone was so successful is because he didn’t hesitate to shoot the puck. A lot of young guys do hesitate because they defer to veteran teammates too often. I believe the brass and coaches want everyone to shoot more, which I think the fans want to see as well.

Travis Konecny said that missed opportunity in OT of Game 2 really bothered him. Said he was driving a few days later and randomly thought of it and was like “F—!” He felt he could have tied the series and he wanted to have moment in the playoffs where he helped the team.

@avappleyard He had a lot of problems in Russia as well. That’s why he was always sent down by the Dynamo. Like, if you’re a great player, you don’t get scratched as much as he does. Obviously he is an incredible talent but “the great ones” don’t take 3 months off going into their second year

@avappleyard He doesn’t play very much defense, doesn’t win puck battles, play on the penalty kill and doesn’t keep his feet moving when he gets the puck. Like, it’s about being the best team now during the playoffs. You punted your offseason and came in to your lifes passion I’ll prepared.

Andrew Painter just isn’t very good. In fact, if his name wasn’t “Andrew Painter” he wouldn’t be up given his numbers and stuff post surgery. His arsenal is very bland. Yes he’s young, but Skenes, Burnes, Mis, Schlittler, McLean etc all dominated from start. Painter isn’t good.

Aaron Nola will end today with an ERA over 6.00 in 23 starts since the beginning of last season. The Phillies will be 8-15 in those starts, barring a huge comeback today. Only 5 of his last 16 have been quality starts. Just not keeping them in enough games.
