Ours was the first nation explicitly founded on the principle of freedom from government coercion. The Founding Fathers didn't just debate theory - they risked everything. They fought a war against the world's greatest empire, knowing that defeat meant charges of treason and the hangman's noose. That alone shows how deeply they valued liberty. They designed a system to protect citizens from their own government: the Bill of Rights, separation of powers, checks and balances, and the Electoral College. These weren't afterthoughts. They were deliberate barriers against tyranny. Contrast that with socialism and communism. These ideologies aren't about freedom from coercion - they're the opposite. They're about central planning: a few elites in government deciding how the many should live, work, and allocate resources. Individual rights take a backseat to collective control. That's why supporting organizations like the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) isn't just misguided - it's playing with fire. It's inviting the very central planners our Founders rejected. History is clear: socialism and communism have never succeeded in delivering prosperity or sustained freedom, especially not in large, dynamic economies. Central planners simply cannot process information or adapt fast enough. The Soviet Union, Maoist China, Venezuela, Cuba - the pattern repeats. Yet look at where we are today. We have a federal government that collects trillions in taxes and spends trillions more. We don't have a truly free economy anymore - we have a heavily mixed one, lurching toward greater government control. Tens of thousands of pages of regulations micromanage nearly every sector. The administrative state reaches into businesses, energy, housing, education, and speech. This is unsustainable. We need bold leadership that actually cuts government - someone with the courage of Argentina's Javier Milei. In just a short time, Milei slashed spending, deregulated, and tamed hyperinflation. What he achieved is nothing short of an economic miracle. America desperately needs its own Milei moment before the window closes. Our freedoms weren't handed to us. They were fought for and deliberately designed. If we keep surrendering them for false promises of security and "equity," we'll lose what made this country exceptional. NEWS: Starlink is being built directly into a new fleet of 26 high-speed trains. Italo, Italy's high-speed rail operator, has ordered 26 Siemens Velaro trains to break into the German market. The deal runs about 3 billion euros and includes 30 years of maintenance, with an option for 14 more trains. The new trains are built with Starlink antennas from the factory, giving passengers satellite internet instead of patchy trackside signal. Italo is also fitting Starlink across its existing Italian fleet, with the rollout finishing in 2027. In year-long testing at 300 km/h the system held speeds above 400 Mbps. CEO Gianbattista La Rocca calls Italo "the first major high-speed rail company in the world" to go this route. I do wonder about that. Right now, Ai is focused on the tech/digital space, for obvious reasons, but as it is more widely used, I can see makers using it to help with conceiving new physical solutions to problems. One thing I can see people doing is inputting all the skills someone has, the tools at their disposal, and their familiarity with materials and the Ai helping them come up with the best product they could make within those constraints. It’s at least a place to start.
