Thanks for listening to Masala Podcast. First, that mental convos deserve as much space in your family as physical health chats. If you break your leg, you'd talk about it right? Second, be patient. Remember that family members may not be used to it. But keep talking...

Currently listening to Masala Podcast-Episode 9 on mental health among South Asian women and was wondering if you have any tips to shares on how to start a conversation about your mental health struggles in a South Asian household. @brownpsych @Soul_Sutras

Mental health has been heavily stigmatized and misunderstood in the South Asian community. What tips and resources would you suggest for those who want to open up about their mental health struggles at home? @SOCHmh

There has always been a stigma around mental health in the South Asian community. It's important to be able to break those barriers within this community and learn to talk openly about mental health at home. This video flawlessly captures this problem! youtube.com/watch?v=Yi1YwV…

Working on improving your mental health takes time and is definitely not a quick fix. With that being said, there are little things that can be done everyday to progressively aid and improve our mental health!

“The Star-Spangled Banner” is one of the most racist, pro-slavery, anti-black songs in the American lexicon, and you would be wise to cut it from your #FourthofJuly playlist. #FvckTheFourth

@EM203SSrimohan Hey Scambavi, I think learning by doing was definitely an impactful way to grasp new information. Putting what you learn into practice makes all the difference!

The past 3 weeks have been really informative! I've been able to expand my understanding of the different learning theories along with the external influences that impact on our cognitive ability to retain information. Plus, I learned how to solve a sudoku puzzle :) #EM203Robin

@EM203svisser Yes, there are so many ways of learning and everyone does truly have a different way of learning. This shows how in-school classrooms really do need to start adapting to students who learn differently as not everyone thinks and understands the same way.

@EM203mmoore Yes, I completely agree Marice, this course really has such a diverse range of learning activities. By including activities like the multi-tasking activity and attempting a new skill, it really made me more engaged in the course and definitely made it more fun.

@EM203rwiebe It's honestly so great when we can see the theories we've learned and actually see it in practice. I myself am someone who plays a lot of sports and there is no better way to learn them than by doing! Only through constant practice did I develop and perfect playing these sports.

EM203 has been very interesting so far especially as the current state of the world has most people learning and working online. I enjoyed studying Learning by Doing with my group especially since I am a musician and learn instruments by doing! #EM203Robin

@EM203FOmar Yes, this course really did allow myself to not only learn about different learning theories, but also put those theories to the test. I did a Sudoku puzzle as well, and I was able to realize what type of learning worked for me and is the most effective.

In just the first three weeks I have learned my way around twitter, the creation of visual media, various thoughts and methodologies related to the field of learning and pushed myself to learn Sudoku! Never knew a course could be this enjoyable and interesting! #EM203Robin

@EM203MShan Sometimes we don’t realize how much technology has changed our lives since it is constantly a part of our everyday routine. Also from sharing ideas and opinions with others, you are able to deepen your knowledge through the perspective and experiences of others. #EM203Robin

During the past 3 weeks, I had the chance to expand my knowledge on the different types of learning theories, especially learning by doing which is what I had focused on. Not only that but, I am able to see how much of an impact technology has played within education. #EM203Robin
